As far as I understand, the 4-minute time is taken from a log where Ocean compares the rendering time of the old and new workstations, all renders in 4K.Even if you are correct about Ocean spending 4 minutes per frame render in the past (I don't remember and am not obsessed about it enough to check), you are forgetting an eency-weency fact that he was rendering HD videos back then. Now everything is in 4K (as you even quoted yourself).
4 times more pixels to render and 4K videos to encode instead of HD makes 45-hour or longer sessions totally plausible if you are correct about HD videos taking about 10 hours![]()
He already did in the TT gameThat will change when Dr. Ocean finally decides to give Nami the breasts she always wanted.![]()
That was more of a Nami's daydreamHe already did in the TT game![]()
Could be Ocean dreaming of comfy pillows, both can be true. That was more of a Nami's daydream
Well, you have to say that Ocean has a "lucky" hand for being unlucky. There is not just one USK comitee, one alone could never do all the work, there are several. And Ocean "aced" it with getting the woke one. That USK committee sounds like they shouldn't be allowed to plan even their own lunch. What a bunch of dipshits.
You know, over all these years that I've been watching the game, there have been people who have blamed Ocean and people who have defended him. The weird thing is, those who blamed Ocean also knew how to render images, while those who defended him couldn't.Since I don't know which log from when did you take that information from or what kind of data did it describe, I can't really say how right, wrong or accurate you are, nor do I care enough to try to search for the source of your information about Oceans hardware and render times if you don't refer to it yourself as a proof of what you're trying to show.
And yes, rendering animations takes less time per frame in average than it takes to render separate static images. Rendering separate images takes him a lot more than 4 minutes per scene, especially if you take scene loading times into account.
What I also do know for sure is that render times of different scene set ups can differ quite a lot, one can be several times faster or slower than another, depending on the scene complexity. If Ocean says that one of the current animations/cinematics in his render queue takes him 40 hours to render, then whatever, it probably does now, since the complexity of his scenes seems to grow with every upgrade of his hardware and he keeps pushing it.
Some old data about rendering a different scene doesn't say much about how long it takes to render a new one, anyway.
Unlike you, I am not obsessed about proving that Ocean is wasting time on lying about his stats.
Mods are going to delete this discussion according to General Rules #2.7 sooner or later anyway.
Alex I missed you. The Thread tends to get quite after some time, and more so nearling the release, but your insights always stirs some life to it. Even if for all the wrong reasons, welcome backYou know, over all these years that I've been watching the game, there have been people who have blamed Ocean and people who have defended him. By the way, I asked the people who blamed Ocean how much time they spend rendering animations. One of them said he made an animation that had more than 2000 frames. In the morning he turned on the PC, set it to render animation and left. The next morning, he came back, and the animation was ready. He doesn't know the exact rendering time, but he says it's definitely faster than the 150-frame animation that Ocean spent 50 hours rendering.
Now I want to ask you, how long does it take you to render an animation?
I knew a dude, Alex, I think was his name, who could render faster than the speed of light. Any developer who cannot render 1000 animations per minute is a scam artist and milker. You know, over all these years that I've been watching the game, there have been people who have blamed Ocean and people who have defended him. Game will get abandoned tag in a few more days ... The update won't be coming before January, I believe. Why is it not shown as abandoned?
