Yes. That would be a dumb thing to think. Given the size and complexity of the codebase, and knowing the engine it uses, a couple of competent developers should be able to refactor the whole thing in about six weeks. I've done bigger projects in less time all by myself.

If they're not just fixing code, but are also redoing all the art from scratch, then it would take longer. Yet even as well, there is no reason for it to take years.

They have enough money to pay a team to work full time. In the time they have spent, if they really were working full time, they could have put out twenty times as much content.

I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong. They are following the rules. If users are willing to pay them for delays, then it's smart to delay, and hurrying would be a bad choice.

I wish dc for some reason goes bankrupt, another more competent developer saves the project and dc is forced to be a side artist of the project to pay the bills, THE ONLY THING this game had was an interesting art style and incest, now we don't have any incest, other artists make the sex scenes and dc spends time doing the most pointless stuff of the game(background, redraw character features that barely changes anything, and adding pointless pregnancy stuff) and that's pretty much it

DC said several times, that even if the game wouldn't make any money at all, he'd continue developing it as a side project next to his actual job. So be careful what you wish for or we may have to return to DC's own coding and quest design - and in that case god may help us all.

PS: He's indeed drawing every asset that's in the game himself. Yes, the animations are done by others, but of course he's the one who creates the assets to create them in the first place.

Backgrounds getting 1/3 larger since the game is going 16:9 is pointless ?
Redraw characters with no black lines on their faces making them look 60+ when they're teens is pointless ?

Might happen if you skip too many builds and try to load a save from 4 years ago. Also, does it stay on day 1 after you load or does it swap around to other places if you click through stuff ? Then keep in mind your save will be dead when the tech build comes out (whenever that is), so everything you do now (restart or not) will be voided once you get the tech update

Skip through the "last seen" kind of introduction, answer 2 questions and you should start with everything up through v0.20.15 completed.
