Don't get too hyped yet, the progress will probably get stuck at 99% for at least a week because of bug testing.
I'm not a dogkeeper, so my knowledge about them is somewhat limited, but as far as I know some dogs have tendency to start yapping nonstop for no apparent reason... Just a fun fact about dogs.
Im Just curious if this game will ever be finished, it has lots of potential buts its been going on for so long that i worry if it will ever come to a finish before i die of old age.

I don't think he cares about it to that extend, probably because there are too many buildings etc. which don't make that much sense when you look at the rooms in detail. He recently extended the background and didn't change it, just by the way:
