Wait so a lot of people mentioned this getting the abandoned tag. What actually happens if it gets the abandoned tag ?

Those who complain about the game not having and abandoned tag will switch to complain about something else and next to that not much is going to change.
It may dissuade a few people from starting to play the game, but that's probably about it.

So which one comes out first - next update or GTA 6's PC version?
Based upon the first 18 times the GTA 6 comparison has been referenced in the past month --- it's a coin toss. But who cares? Oh wait... I guess you do, Cale Altair.

as soon as it is marked as "abandoned" the new version will be released immediately
Why?
How does the status of a thread on a pirate forum affect Patrons? Do you think the people giving DarkCookie money come here to check progress while they sit at (and pay for) the source?
"Here on Patreon I have access to the creator's feed, the community tab, links to the streams on Picarto and the Discord server, yet better check this unrelated forum how it's really going"

How does this site affect patreon ? Quite a lot considering that most people wouldn't even know about existance of most of the games here without this site in the first place. Devs begrudgingly relize that this site is major advertizer for their games.

Edit: Abandon tag can turn potential backers away.

That's certainly true for newer games and lesser known devs. SS on the other hand is still so popular within the mainstream and present on almost any platform/social media that's connected to 2d porn, that F95 will have a much, much smaller part in advertising it.
People who are into 2D games will come across SS pretty quickly and even those who are just looking for 2D porn, may find it sooner or later.

If you add, that the game is free and people can download it from DC's homepage, and you've got another reason, why people wouldn't care about F95. They see the game on some x-rated platform/social media and download it from DC's homepage/patreon - no need to visit F95 in between.

I'm not saying it won't have any effect, but in this specific case it's definitely not as big as some would like it to be.

Edit:
How did you become aware of this site's existence?
I think most people will find F95 because they want to play a game, that's not freely available. But in SS' case, precisely that group of people won't show up here in the first place, because the game is free to begin with. Why would anybody bother to register on some random platform, when you can just get the game with one click from DC's homepage?

For the average adult game developer that makes less than $100 per month on Patreon (Yes, that is what the median adult game developer receives from subscribers... even after more than 2 years on that platform)? Yes, F95 can help them increase consumer awareness and something posted on this site might be a major influence.

For a developer who has been active for over 7 years and has over 33 million search results on Google for their game? Over 5 million of those being video results? A game that widely used tiktok hashtags? A game that has been downloaded over 100 million times across various platforms over the years (nearly 70 million downloads of the android version on one site, alone --- and it's not this site that I'm talking about)? A game that has popular memes in "mainstream" social media? No. Whatever is said in this thread has very little influence on the success/bottom line. Bitching and moaning by people in this thread is simply farting in the wind. An "abandoned" tag changes little to nothing on the financials. Back in 2016 it could have. Now, no, not so much.

Of the 6.6 million F95 members who come to this site, most don't even read the threads. They just download and go (the average member with an account posts fewer than 2 posts, themselves). So every time someone posts a whining lament here, they only bring the game up to the top of the queue for people to look at and download. Every whine in here only INCREASES visibility.

Also, one of DC's biggest consumer base doesn't even speak/read English. They frequent other sites which are in their languages more often than coming here. And they are downloading to play on their phones, which is one of the major reasons for the tech update - to give mobile users a better experiences in playing.

So, no. An "abandoned" tag is only a placebo for people on this site who think it actually matters. It doesn't. At least not for the more popular adult games.
