sry but I'm not interested in his streams nor a making-of of a porn game.
I'd rather see him put that energy in the game development itself.
streaming, chatting with fans, having fun while making papers... as I said, someone is living the dream.

Sure, streaming, that's worth the money. Except he doesn't stream "spoiler" content. But streaming was his hook (you'll notice he doesn't do it as much as he used to). When he did he would also stream content that never ever appeared in the game (he did loads before he changed the character rigging, which means all that "work" is in the recycle bin). When he's doing that, he's pretending to work. It looks like work, smells like work, but isn't. And you're lavishing praise on him for not working for nearly $56k a month? Just because you aren't personally being scammed doesn't mean you can't call out a scam.

Well, the time saving aspect was always questionable, given that everything has to be drawn anyway. The rig-system mainly served the purpose to save space, to enable the game to stay playable on mobiles especially, given that in some areas (especially the SEA) the majority of players seems to play on mobiles by now.

And sure, there are differences between devs. DC is a guy who worked in the animation industry, got fed up and wants to make his own thing with a small team. Other devs want to grow their business, etc. - each to their own. In the end people are free to give money to whom they like. But again, it's not like he's promising something he doesn't keep.

Edit: Just to add the stuff with the children. Sure, money matters, but you'll never get the time back you miss watching them grow up etc. so I can totally understand that people take a least a little time to enable that. At least I certainly know that I'll try to minimize travel and days away from home as much as possible once I've got kids. No matter whether it means a little less money or not... But that's, probably again, something everyone has to decide for himself.

Sorry but that's just not true. Sure, he did some work ages ago (over 2 years by now), but that was when he was still talking about new projects and wanted to get SS done quickly. Those things were dropped rightfully because the quality was simply subpar. Once he decided to take it seriously, I'm not aware of anything that was lost. I do indeed dare you to name a few things he streamed in the last 12 to 18 months that went into the bin.

And sure, he doesn't do as much spoiler content as he used to, because back then he basically streamed huge parts of the update and the suprise was gone. Now he cares a little more and people don't get spoiled to the degree that they know what's going to happen. You may not agree with that, but it does make quite a bit of sense.

Edit: I'll withdraw from this discussion now. It's been held so many times over the years and minds won't be changed anyway. Stay safe.

Summertime Saga is DC's baby, and he is not anybody's slave. So it's pointless to say he must hire someone or work faster because he earns so much. It's his perfect right not to hire anybody and to work his own pace. It's your perfect right not to support him. Oh, wait...

DC is the type of guy making more money and not investing in to the game
Another artist would be a real help, and not firing every year his coders.

Look at Adeptussteve you can clearly see how he invests money into the game, everything he stated he made.

moved (like they promised) to a bigger & better office to have enough space for everyone to be able to work better & faster.
Investing in new hardware.
Giving inside information by posting videos of him and his team.


The development of WL was so slow at the beginning but became much faster in the meantime.

Opposite story with SS, became more & more sluggish
Making excuses over and over again: "new baby meh corona meh..."

When i became children i didn't work less nope i worked more to be able to feed more people and he have it even easier working from his home.

As far as I remember, the new rig system is not about speed, but mainly about size, effort and flexibility. It provides easier possibility to add more outfits and poses which integrate seemlessly into the scenes, reducing code complexity. Game size has only increased by about 200 MB from 0.16 to 0.19.5, while the amount of graphics has roughly tripled.

And from a modder's point of view: the rig system makes many things possible that were not possible without. For instance, idle character animations like blinking, talking or breathing. Also, it's easier to add naughtier stuff in sex scenes.

I hope this game takes many years still to finish!
