Do we expect that his patreon support will increase at a proportional rate? If it doesn't he's making a non optimal financial decision and if it does we'll be right back at square 1 with people saying that DC makes $90k/m, but doesn't produce 1.5 times faster.

Once we talk about art and creative areas this rising gap is actually pretty normal. Your favorite band, singer, actor etc. won't start to release 10 times as many songs, movies, etc. either, just because they are suddenly making millions instead of peanuts.

They release what they produce and the money they make is determined by how many people like what they do.

Else I'm indeed sure that his support would grow if he'd manage to hire people he needs, but then we'll indeed be back to where we are now. Some will always complain anyway.

I got some issues reported and I hope I removed all.

I do not play the game in the moment. I need 3-4 versions until I play patreon games again.
But if I get reported in the mod thread any issues, I will try to solve them.

I just can't test the issues myself. I need a screenshot of the situation (or the exact sentence and wih a short description of the scene).

Not that it'm aware. There's a picture of him wearing a horse head while doing that stream floating around but that's it. It was spontaneous on some porn platform and thus many people missed it. And to be fair, it was obviously a joke when he created that target and he thought he'd never reach it. So it's kind of understanable that he didn't advertise it.

It's not like somebody is paying that kind of money alone. The average patron pays ~$2,5 while many pay $1. The numbers get big because DC seems to have a pretty much global audience by now where the US/noth american part of the playerbase is actually only third behind SEA and europe.

I'm guessing the people that constantly push the "HE'S MILKING HIS PATREONS!" narrative have never followed a developer that has actually milked his Patreons. I don't get it. DarkCookie has never pulled the shit that Developers like ICSTOR, or Gumdrop have done. He's never abandoned the game. He's never not delivered an update. His content doesn't leave you with blue balls. I didn't have to wait several updates to fuck Roxxy. I got it all, and I nutted the same day.

Is the game perfect? No. Is every update a fucking master piece? No. But, come on give me a break with this milking shit. Go to the thread about Dual Family, and educate yourself on what milking actually is.

I think the “milking” complaint is valid only when DC sets expectations. For instance, he made an official blog post stating that this update would take 2 months because it would be split in half. It’s now into 4 months. Criticism about missing deadlines by that much is valid.

personally, what I think would help his Patreon is more transparency. Posting more often with status updates and previews (which isn’t uncommon from other devs) would go a long way to invalidating that criticism.

At least with Smith update we get to play with gigantic-extralarge-mama-boobs-x2 (Smith & Lucy (Annie's notmom), with Ronda's update (looks like) the only good thing we get to play with is her notmom.
