Can't a mod just tag this as abandoned to shut some people up or... Prove that they will still linger to repeat the same shit even if that happens? It's not like it matters for anyone but the spammers.
In that case people would just complain about other people giving money to an "abandoned" game. Those who want to stick around to repeat the same thing over and over again or haven't anything better to do than to write negative comments again and again, will do so anyway.

What's your point, it's not like people can talk about the game being update since it hasn't been for a year, if the game was being updated, people wouldn't be complaining at the fact that it is not. At this point, all that there is left to do is to either complain at the lack of updates or complain about people complaining trying to act morally virtuous and smarter than everyone else.
To avoid a moaning contest, moderators should probably lock this thread until an eventual release if they are actually still working on the game and not just making a little bit of art to appear alive.

Man, seriously?
My point is simple enough. Coming here to cry about updates is not going to actually make them come any faster. What was to be said was already said. Stop repeating the same crap over and over. It's not about acting "morally virtuous and smarter than everyone else". Fuck that, we are all idiots from the moment we signed up to this forum. lol
Still, it makes you the scum of the scum here to act like a broken recorder. Specially when this bullshit buries the scarce shit that some of us are still interested in: The wallpapers, what was being worked on a stream, monthly updates (the "little bit of art" you say).
The dev is slow, greedy, nazi, fascist, communist, whatever. It has been said already.
Nothing against you personally, but it's quite birdbrained to say there's nothing to do but complain.

I'll try to keep my rant on the thread to these posts only. Anything else, we take it to PMs.

One of the biggest problems with Patreon games is a developer has to be upfront with their development cycle. Overall, the less information you give the better because you are setting yourself up for a lot backlash when ultimately you are not able to provide your deliverables in the promised time frame.

A prime example of this is the tracker. You provide a tracker to subscribers. It is great. It lets people know how far you are until your next update. In this case, Summertime Saga had a great tracker. It was multifaceted with a separate section for Coding, Art, etc. Nevertheless, once the tech update hit, the percentage started to stagnate. The reason given was that the more they opened the box, the more things there was and is to fix. So they kinda stopped updating it. Also at the same time there's no tracking of the progress even now. Sure, the dev is posting every month what they do, but to be honest, they're just words on a page and a long list of jargon the average person doesn't understand. However, if you were to ask him, how much are you done with this tech update I doubt he would have an answer for you. It seems a little disingenuous to not have a percentage in mind. 50%? 60%? You cannot point to the tracker as you've shown that its unreliable.

I always do wonder why they point to the deficiency of their coding to do a tech update. Is it ever worth it? Shouldn't you just grit your teeth and deal with it? Idr of a single game that did well after a major tech update (in the porn genre that is.)

This is just word vomit and I find it cathartic to express my opinion on this thread when I've been waiting over 5 years to play this game as I am autist and wanted to wait until the game was over to play it.

I can appreciate your frustration - but the honest thing is that this game will most likely not be "over" for years. You could easily wait another 5 years (even after the tech update is rolled out) before a possible v1.0.0 is even considered for release.

Also, the idea of an adult game being complete is becoming more of a rarity than a norm. As I have stated previously, these are becoming more like television series where as long as the developer has ideas and there are fans wanting more content, development will just keep going and going and going (consider "The Simpsons" or "South Park" and their years of content). This is both the benefit and the bane of the subscription-based development model.

Best of luck to you.

this is abandoned in every aspect only not named so
tech update means trivial coding enhancement but no more story or character update
no resoultion for depth storyline, or mafia guys that come home who can force mother and sister into working for them
or into prostitution or no more teacher quests bugfixes
(once reloaded a save game after giving an item asian teacher wants, it is flagged as not given and since it already has been given to her item does not appear in store and so that teachers quests are unavailable forever)

i wonder what DC would say if someone asked him how much time per day he commits to STS daily himself. you might think with all the money he makes, 8 hours is the minimum. every lawyer, plastic surgeon or whatever who makes this amount of money is probably not seeing his house before the evening but with DC it feels like he has been using the last couple years as a vacation from busting his ass at the beginning of STS development. doodling a wallpaper here and there while on stream or some backgrounds while the money rolls in. people said he is done doing ronda and background art for a year, yet he sitll does both (and takes his time doing it)

I would also like to add that this game is *actually* complete. Main story is done, all major characters have their stories.

So we are basically waiting for DLC and remaster.

Based on the current reception of this game, I'm glad I've only discovered it recently lol. Easily the best sandbox/sim ERPG game I've played. Aside from the mc being a little too much of an autist, it's damn near perfect compared to a lot of it's contemporaries.
Only game I've seen that can compete is My Daily Life Of my Countryside, and that's only because of it's animation and art-style, when it comes to progression, story and gameplay mechanics, STS blows everything else out of the water by far. It seems like this 2 year update people have been waiting for is nearly complete, so hopefully it can drop before the end of this year.
