2 scenes a month he doesn't need to do but still makes so the Patrons have something while they wait for the tech update, yes that's enough

Main route wasn't a thing until the 0.20 updates came out just for it

Dude was crying the game added 2-3 girls in ~4 years, which is wrong when the 1st main route update alone added Maria and Tina (probably Liu and Josie too). Whether you or that dude care or not about any girl(s) being added/relevant/have good scenes doesn't remove them from existence ......
i could animate 26 of these in a month easy. they are like 12 frames.

Meh I say it's mostly complete. The main story is done, most of the characters have content and all that's really left is to finish up on side characters that arent as popular anyway
This is also my take. The main story arc is complete - the MC has put the pieces of the puzzle together surrounding his father's death.
Everything else is because enough people want it and voted for it, and the developer enjoys doing it.
What's happening now is the updated layout for 16:9 displays to use more of the screenspace on handheld devices and attempting to make the coding less of a shitshow for efficiency and to optimize for further additional character developments.
Yes, there is still the date to the dance story arc, etc --- but those are all supplementary.

Animating them maybe, but drawing all of the art assets that are needed to create them in the first place by hand?

Well, the game always had two main objectives. One was to investigate what happened to MC's dad and the other one was to find a date for the prom. I think there's a good number of people - like me - who never really cared about MC's dad in the first place, so it's fair to say that the game is far from being done by any objective measure.

I can't even remember a "date to the prom" thing even coming up. I saw it in the description but I don't remember it being mentioned in the game itself and it really shouldn't be that hard anyway with both the Roxxy and Eve storylines finished

The objectives are one of the first things you see, while MC is lying on his bed at the very beginning - though right now it's called "soritiy ball" because of patreon.
objectives.png

You obviously have to include the girls (boys) which are meant to go to the ball/prom with MC, which are Roxxy, Eve, Annie, Ronda, Mia, Judith and to a lesser extend Debbie, Jenny and Kevin.

So before their stories aren't done and before the ball/prom isn't implemented, the game really can't be considered done. At least in my mind this part has always been the more important one and as far as I see it, it's the same for DC.

Good for you, DC doesn't animate scenes anyway

It won't happen until all the schoolgirls get their route (3 planned after the tech), then the older schoolers who need a preg remake (Mia, Roxxy), probably the teachers' preg remake, possibly Debbie's remake if DC still wants to add her in the prom list, etc

Debbie isn't a side character and she's not popular, you'll still get a remake for her

imagine taking your mom to the sorority ball, i wonder how DC will depict that ending. is it going to be super awkward or is everyone in summerville going to be cheering the MC on

I choose Eve. There, the MC has found his date for the Sorority Ball. Note, it says "find a date" and it doesn't say "ask someone to" and it doesn't say "find a date and attend."
3/3. Game over - Summertime Saga is completed. Now, everything else from this moment on is just added value - free DLC, bugfixes, tweaks, "definitive edition" development - whatever someone wants to call it. :KappaPride:

I'm not sure if we'll really see Debbie, but DC once explained it as the "MC didn't find a girl ending", while in Jenny's case he'd probably have to pay her. But given that there's so much time left... who knows....

Probably a mix of both : since the dating stuff should be in-game by then, most girls will know MC buttstuffed the entire school ..... Then he comes to the prom with his mom, which will be both weird and implying snu-snu to the rest of the girls, as per stated above

Well, yes. Im no patreon supporter but I understand that some stories might get not developed if people choose to see Roxxy/Eve/Ronda stories before the mom/aunt/sister/maid/nurse/dealership girl/bank ladies/rump family/other moms...

I mean... its understandable. For fans its too long? Hell yes, but...

Worst take. You consider a game completed when there's a big portion of the cast that doesn't have a route, some need reworks, route's are left open for further expansion and promised features were never implemented? I think fans who are waiting for certain content would disagree when they put the completed tag on this thread.

There's a difference between considering it completed according to your own preferences and calling it genuinely completed and calling all the content that has yet to be added supplementary.

Hey, Mr. Jump to Conclusions -
Neither of us said the game was "complete" ... we said mostly complete. As for my comment about the main story, I'm not saying anything that DC hasn't already stated ... that the main story is finished.

Everything else I stated - adding to my agreement that the game is mostly completed:
  • content for certain characters (voted for by patreons) and that DC enjoys what he is doing
  • Updated layout
  • fixing code
  • optimize to continue to add future content for other character developments
  • There is still the date to the dance story arc
is correct.

Like 80% of characters have content and the main plot of the game is finished. It's literally just side characters that are left and maybe rework some older scenes. If this was an rpg all that would be left is to add in some side quests at some random town or some random forts to clear so you don't bored after completing the game

"I'm not saying anything that DC hasn't already stated" While completely ignoring the fact you downplay the remaining unfinished content by saying those are all supplementary and claiming everything else is because people want/voted for it and DC enjoys doing it. Implying the remaining content is extra and not mandatory for completion.

A lot of people don't care for the main story and just want to see the girls (and boys) get content. I don't know what RPG's you play but some random side quests and forts to clear aren't a good comparison to whole characters not being finished in a porn game in which these characters are the MAIN content.

I said they are supplemtary because they are supplementary. If you disagree with me oh well. I really don't think the remaining content is all that important

And? The main story is what most games on this site run around. There is a main story the character follows and some other LI springgled around here and there and some background love interests that don't really get much focus.

Again sorry if you disagree, but I don't really care. The main story and the main supporting characters of the game are what really matters. The main characters, the main love interests. Literally everything else is added for extra flavor. Not saying that the LI arent important in a porn game because they are important, but certain characters in any story are way more important than other characters and in this case the most important characters already have a lot of content.

Again, calling this game mostly complete by your preference is your opinion that you're entitled to. Talking about it as if it is a consensus is incorrect. It's just not true.

The game didn't even have a main story for a very long time and even after it had a main story you pretty much bounce around already existing questlines, it doesn't have to be anything different, I'm not complaining, but SS doesn't run around the main story like many other narrative driven games on here.

Tech Update - 76% Complete 495 Tasks

We're soo much closer boyos, by 1%. YAY!!!!:KEK::KEK::KEK:
What sucks more is any project is only as complete as it's worst bottleneck. Since code is 54%, it is safe to say we have a long way to go. Even if everything else finishes to 100% in the next month, the timeline won't change since code is still just over half complete. Will probably be a lot of small scene updates for a while but hey, better than nothing. A lot of dev's don't even do that much when there are delays.

I never acted like it's mostly correct. What actually happen is you got annoyed over a differing opinion. Again you are welcome to disagree with me. Personally I don't care though. I'd say the game is around 90% and that everything that's not there currently is supplementary to what we already have, espically since most of the characters that don't content aren't that popular in the first place. So yes the game is mostly complete

I think what's a lot worse is you getting bent out of shape because you can't believe people on this thread have a different opinion. Also this game had the whole dead dad plot since around the beginning of the game's development.
