Hey guys, I'm returning to the game after a few good years. I like the art style change and the QoL improvements. But is it normal that there is even less content now than it used to be? I can't progress with Miss Dewitt for example and I can't even start aunt Dianne's story. Am I missing something or is everything take out for restructuring purposes? I only have Extra Lines incest mod if that affects anything

i dont get it did they try to release demo after giving 90% of the game? people will just upload older versions with more gameplay and scenes at this point, i dunno who would wanna go to support on patreon after move like that...

Apparently it's a "soft reboot" for the Debbie story. I frankly don't get this. The old Debbie route had plenty of stuff that fit well within the narrative. The dev could've just released extra modified scenes or released "alternate situashionships" instead of rewriting them as a whole.

Tbf, I wouldn't be shocked if F95Zone as a site cease to exist, before SS development is finished or WW3 outbreak happens, before SS development is finished or I completely throw in the bin the incest fetish (I kind of already do), before SS development is finished.

It got the abandoned tag and the Milking tag so the dude making the game started taking things out of the game and saying it was an update.

Maybe, but he doesn't even read the hate - he's been getting it since year one and he knows no matter what he does, there will always be people who hate what he does. Sploosh appears to read the hate, because I think Sploosh enjoys a bit of schadenfreude.

Debbie's new code is basically already done in the tech update and won't require the programmer's full attention.

It is? Every dialogue/narrative rewrite requires coding - not just the new script, but how the changes effect progression. As has been stated, they aren't just bringing Debbie's art up-to-date (earlier than planned) - but they are also updating her story. So, no, the code is not basically already done.

Debbie is lacking pregnancy content, her art is a hodgepodge of old and new, she is a fan favorite, and her scenes will only grow as other stories expand.

Is she a fan favorite? Have you looked at the previous poll results? She's not taken a top spot (or even near it) in a long long time.

To me, it always made sense to complete Debbie after reworking Jenny and Diane. However, from a business standpoint, I think now was the right time. I would guess that DC feels backed into a corner and people are justifiably mad that the 9 month tech update is now going on 4 years.

I would agree with you about when it made sense (years ago). I agree that now is the right time, but not for the reason you think (also, the tech update is going on 5 years - it's currently 4 years, 8 months) (edit: I did bad math, you're correct about going on 4 years). It makes sense because since they are working on the early days of in-game play - now is the best time to get Debbie's artwork and storyline where it is intended to be so that as dev team adds the other content to it, they don't need to go back and edit not only Debbie's art and storyline later but also tweak out any overlaps with other characters at that later time.

I think the idea was to give the route a more natural flow that fits better with how Roxxy and Eve's routes ended up as. Compared to those two, Debby and the old Jenny one were relatively underdeveloped. And those were just barely above the Mia one (and only because of the sheer amount of content). Call it autism, which it most likely is, but making each route of equal quality in the narrative department is a sound idea from a purely gaming development perspective. The way they are handling it not withstanding.

Mia and Diane (maybe?) are going to get the same treatment, so you can already prepare yourself for that.

Roxxy and Eve I can't really see getting a rewrite at all. They're probably as good as they're gonna get.

It could be that your excuse is a better one on why they chose to update Debbie now. I know it's very specific and strategic on why they chose, even if I don't fully comprehend why. Maybe it just makes sense as her story will overlap and work in conjunction with so many other stories. I think that idea makes sense.

I also feel like the lack of content problem does eventually snowball into a big problem at some point. Maybe DC wanted to head it off before it grew into something bigger. If it's not the money or the hate then maybe it just a strategic decision to take care of this story which is kind of the heart to everything, to make the rest run smoother.

I disagree with you that Debbie is not a fan favorite. She still did land in the top 6 for additional lewd scenes and I'll argue she would have a 2nd time too if she would've been offered up. The other instances are more a backlash of the fans which were unhappy about the Jenny and Diane remakes. The fans wanted new stuff, period. The teachers and Roxxy updates were huge hits and the fans wanted more of that. I'll just say this when it comes to Debbie, DC says the number one question he gets from fans is about Debbie's pregnancy, which tells me she is very popular.

When I say Debbie's code is already there, what I'm saying (probably not well enough) is that her story is implemented in the WIP, which to me would make it easier to put in. Her story has crossed that hurdle already, so I imagine it's easier to play around with that. It's not like you have to implement a whole new line and make sure it jives with everything else.

There are also simpler issues story wise, that need to be reworked for the main story to function.

Pregnancy is always a big one and has been discussed many times in regards to the gameplay, and a lot of the story is forced to overlap or stall because of it. If I'm understanding what fans of the game want, they seem to prefer the ability to get every single woman pregnant in the game, including sex during that time.

Having Debbie reworked could solve a simple issue where she's pregnant while being kidnapped by the mob. This also applies to Jenny. Think how small a detail that is, but needs to be addressed. There's no dialogue for it AFAIK, so maybe they'll rewrite some for it, but the art still needs to be redone for all of the scenes, for something that happens outside of the main story.

This could also apply to any girl he takes to the eventual prom, potentially meeting them in the school after getting them pregnant, etc. The one solution they had for Eve, was that she was technically pulled from the storyline, but iirc, her pregnancy could also lock out your ability to advance the art teacher because it required you to interact with her at the school.

I think people voted for other women back then, and might still do now, because all updates, even the story is primarily focused on Debbie. You could even say that her story is complete unless they keep adding more, which they did with the Russian mafia where she got kidnapped.

It's not far-fetched to assume that people will vote for other women to see more scenes with them, than for Debbie who we have a lot of, even if it lacks scene variety.

Perfect example is Judith with 51% votes because we still only have a jerk off scene with her in the bathroom while she was one of the first girls we had any lewd scenes with in the game.
Heck, i would vote for Lucy, at this point because we got nothing from her except being the babysitter with a dismissing husband and a prude. There is a whole untapped story line

So these votes arent any indicators of who is a fan favorite or not. Rather who people would like to see updates from. And with that in mind, there is a case that Debbie is still a fan favorite when still 8% want to see more of her.
