The only 'obligation' he has is to honor Patreon's terms, as that's the framework of any financial support he receives. And we've talked about that in this thread at length - those terms do not 'obligate' him to deliver any content at all, let alone finish anything. He is not beholden to a production schedule or timeline.

When you back someone on Patreon, you are supporting their talent and their ideas. Not their output. That support brings certain perks (wallpapers, early access, etc), but it doesn't assure new content.

His Patreon supporters either understand this in a way the whingers around here do not, or they simply don't care (either from apathy or ignorance). Either way, it's their money to part with as they please.

You summed up rather precisely what I wanted to say - if I was more eloquent and had more confidence in what I was talking about. I have no personal opinion on anything to do with the game or DC, except perhaps that I am keen to give the game a go whenever it's fully complete. Cheers.

Guys , i played the older version of game long time ago until in-game walkthrough disappeared then i stopped playing .
2 months ago when got back here i found after the tech and downloaded v21.0.0 -wip -5605 , i found old saves is not playable and game started over again with less content than the older version and all places is opened even new places i didnt play in the older version, i knew i finished it after unlocking all scenes in the gallery .
So what happened ? why they start over ? and why there is no different content where is the rework ?

Game's broken because the creator hired a useless schizo of a coder who broke the game and the creator has been trying to "fix" it for the last four years. Come back in another...let's see, Debbie's rework has taken four years, there are another dozen characters to go...carry the five...yeah I don't see it getting to a playable state this side of 2040. Sorry.

This. I've been here since 2016-2017 waiting for Judith content.I realized it'll never come a year into the tech, but it doesn't hurt to read a log every half a year or so and laugh at comments for a bit.

luckily im one of those people who like the game but I'm not overly waiting for it as there's many other games to play, I'm like oh hey its still going cool and get back to my day playing something else. it feels kinda sad to be mad like think about normal AAA games and how long they take (cough gta6 cough) I think I can wait on a less important porn game lol.

...Why are you here if you're trying to air grievances about the progress of the game? Do you usually hang out in places with content you explicitly don't like?

You say he's not making enough money to work on this full-time, so how would you prioritize employee retention? How are you duly compensating them for work with the pittance you say he's making? Why would you want a consistently subpar output? You're pretending like they're doing excellent work and his supposed team is the geese that laid the golden egg and that can't be further from the truth. He did more work of higher quality when he was solo so pretending like he absolutely needs 6 others to put out 1/10th of his solo output is stupid.

Oh, the game's awful. I have no idea how a game with mediocre art blew up like this other than owing to community outreach on the part of DC.

But at the same time, for the kind of money he's pulling, for the kind of payroll he could theoretically be responsible for, that money ain't going too far. If you're already assuming that DC is a fraud and his entire team doesn't exist and he's just pocketing all the money... why are you here?

Right. And the people who do pay either care or don't care enough to stop, so he has no reason to do anything different.

And since I'm remembering what I actually wrote, you are more than free to dislike the game. The problem is when you start demanding people agree with you that it's a fraud or a scam. Those are actual offenses. You'll notice I don't respond to the people who are critical of the game and do respond to the people who are freaking out about how other people spend their money and calling it a scam.

Your claim is wrong. There is new content in the former completed scenes, that, granted are not that big, but you could see if you would just play the small re-releases instead of just echoing the same old BS, or running through the game with the CTRL key held down.

I feel bad for believing the developer reworked the game from the beginning to milk money because there was no new content, as many game developers do.
But does rework mean a change in the content? I noticed some changes in Debby's path, but Genny's path remained unchanged, and the teachers' path certainly hasn't.
Is the developer reprogramming the game again now? I feel bad for him.

You know this is the same argument over and over. You've read others type this argument over and over.

You also know the reason for the tech update and the modders who have intimate knowledge of the code that have said from their experience the tech update was needed and the code was barely holding together.

You are completely aware. This argument is a non starter and has been for years.

I disagree if you decide to make a poll asking what people want you to work on, you have to be truthful. I refuse to believe that he didn't know that reworking 5 years worth of content would take way more than 9 months to finish. I am not even disagreeing with the fact that the code needed to be reworked. But if that is the case then just tell the truth instead of making it seem like it was your subs decision and you are just giving them what they want. This whole thing has been just poorly managed and it my opinion there is no excuse at this point. He is not some small dev, he is by far the biggest nsfw creator on patreon and the 12th biggest creator overall on the platform.

I add to that that DC streams his drawing session every 2 or 3 days, sometimes everyday. So I guess some patreons are mostly what "Twitch subscribers" are on Twitch. We should consider him not only as a game designer or a game creator, but also (and mostly now) as a streamer. I guess that's the best compromise for everyone and that could explain why there are few complaints outside F95 and why there still are 30k+ patreons. DC works in interaction with spectators, patreons/fans feel invested in his work. From a neutral perspective, this looks like the "best" solution to keep a small hype around the game for his followers without being exhausted to wait 6 more months for the next hotfix patch update.

I've checked the recent messages on the Discord. It looks like a 16:9 format, as long as rewritting/reposing code, was already on touch in 2017. But as it would have meant rebuilding the game from scratch, and as restaring a porn game after 1 year is generally the dead of the project, patreons themselves vote to continue on the same bad code and to continue arts on 4:3. After 3 1/2 years of work, it had became unsustainable. And now we have the tech update.

On a side I also find the tech update really slow, despite all the work to do. On the other side, DC works on this game everyday.
The only criticism I could address for DC is the lack of written communication. I mean informal status from time to time explaining in few details what's going on on dev part atm could be good for everyone. But even on Discord you can only have some devoted members estimating the end of the techu update, the most optimistic in a year, the more realistic between 3 and 6 more years, and that's it. Not a single word from DC himself (ngl I've not looked all the convos to certify this quote). Apart for announcing the Picarto livestreams, DC rarely/never post anything. Quite sad.
