Has he checked out the fan art section around here? Like no offense to the guy, but this notion that he can't hire someone to do what amounts to scene modeling and have him clean it up sounds like utter BS given what we know about how comic books have worked for decades. I get that it might be harder to find someone due to the nature of the content, but what has he done to try and recruit help? I know I offered him assistance a long time ago and he brushed me off, and that was back when he was making far less than he is now.
All the fan art I see is people just taking the existing art assets and copy pasting them - that's not creating anything.

As said before, the issue is art bottlenecking. I'm constantly trying to find stuff to do during the day to pass the time, or try to find new features that require basically no art to implement so that the workflow can be optimized.

I don't like the wait as much as you don't. We are not getting paid to slack off, and when there's work to do, it's promptly added. The thing is that DC hasn't find enough suitable help for the art (and the art has to match the style consistently, which is hard to come by).

We've also increased the size of the updates. Roxxy's update takes me around 2-3 hours to speedrun through. That should keep you thirsty-ass bitches occupied for a few days (or so I hope).

Game dev takes time. Teams of 20 take 3 years to produce a finished game. We're 6. The game has been around for a year and a half basically. I think it goes to show that if we could do faster, we would.

And people are blinded by the amount of money we get. Guess what ? Compared to other game's budget, it's pocket money, and yet, we all pay taxes on that, it's not money straight into DC's pockets. It's money into Kompas Productions' bank account, and there's a difference there. Obviously, I'm very grateful for this job, and for people supporting and believing in us. You have to know though, that many indie studios have a budget of several millions for their games. That's a lot more than 40k/month.

i really appreciate the work you guys do, summertime saga is the best adult game in development right now, no question about it

DC should really find someone or even multiple people who can help him speed up the art, that should be the top priority right now in my opinion

Really surprised people are throwing this much of a hissyfit.
Compared to most patreon(not to mention kickstarter...urgh)projects of this kind SS is actually incredibly active and responsive.
Development takes time, even more so if you are doing it with inadequate tools(renpy is a bitch to do anything with thats outside its intended function)and even if DC had the money to hire a bigger team(which I doubt, people are underestimating production costs like crazy),as any project manager with a few rounds under his belt will tell you, that rarely works out(even more so if you have a unique bottleneck like art which you cant just simply outsource).

Having said that...dunno about the snarky Dev comments, might want to cut that back before it starts blowing up.

You missed the bottleneck. It's the art, not the saves.
What? How could the saves ever be the bottleneck? The saves are a standalone user experience issue. The reason to not support old saves was proposed as technical rather than time constrained so I was curious about clarification. I'm not complaining about their release schedule lol.

That's what he was saying. Art is taking too much time. Saves are just cherry on the top.

I guess none of u understood what i was talking about. My point was, that lack of management of work schedule is making delay. When coders have to
find stuff to do during the day to pass the time,
, it is obvious it will take more time to complete. Everyone know saying "work smart not hard". And noone would complain, if u just set the deadline to set date. It can even be 6months for one update.

Ad1 It was obvious from the start, with nature and complexity of this game(city map for instance), saves wont work at all. People asking for them to work are simply not educated enough to understand simple things.

Ad2. Comparing yourselves to indie company and saying that they have milions in budget is a bit overconfident, dont you think? Yes, there are small studios, with milions of dolars, but they MADE games before, and their games happends to be succesful in some way. How many games did you do as a team before?

I just want to say welcome to the most recent batch of backseat developers, the people shocked and appaled that the incest was taken out, the budget-vs.-time crunchers, and the Patreon-alternative seekers. I know patch release season is when you plop out of your hidey-holes and you feel the need to spread your wings and provide what you surely think is an advice-starving thread with your immense wisdom.

I just want to say, very succinctly, before you post:
We Have Heard It Before.

Please fucking calm down.

Feel free to quote and repost this message if you feel like it.

If I where to make a very basic but in my opinion an important addition, a scene that hints at supernatural elements within the game would be a good addition to the intro. It means the more fantastical elements like Aqua the mermaid won't look as if they come out of the blue or clash with the rest of the story if the town is suppose to have an underlying supernatural element.
considering that most likely the principal is the head of that order and she has kind of an egyptian queen/slave relationship fetish I don't think it's something supernatural there...
as of now Aqua was added on demand from what I can recollect...which actually fucked up the realistic story as you put it...
Somewehere I read about a poll for a female Alien...but I thought it was fake news to fuck with us.
I complained about the inexplicable and tonally inconsistent inclusion of a supernatural being into what is essentially a slice-of-life suburbia story, but I was met with a lot of criticism back then.

GOD i hope DC makes wife of that fisherman fuckable. Who does not wanna cuck trashy white fisherman?
As opposed to a black fisherman, wut?

@Alcesto You should not quote without context. It's not a management issue, it's just that the output of one person can't match the input of others.

To be faster, we need more art, and the art has to be done in a timely fashion. DC can't hire an artist that would take 10 times the time it takes him to do the same task, because he'd then need 10 more artists to just double the art production.

Speed and fidelity are hard to find.

until they find platform other than patreon. For now patreon banning incest content so we all have bear it
True, but since "lewdpatcher.com" is off site, and they don't have to take credit for posting the patch, I don't see how this would be able to hurt them.

Since Patreon is like the only reliable funding site, I doubt they'd take that big risk and make an "off patreon" patch to restore the incest for a game they have on Patreon. Plus there are mods that restore the incest though...
I would say the same thing to you that I said to ovan26, "since "lewdpatcher.com" is off site, and they don't have to take credit for posting the patch, I don't see how this would be able to hurt them." The current mod is far from perfect, but most definitely better than nothing at all. I just want to see the original vision for this game come to fruition. That why I asked. I'm not sure how to publicly ask Dogeek my question directly, on this thread, without having replied to one of his comments.

Yes. Whenever it's done.
That sounds like it's going to be a complete nightmare to implement.......all the old source material is going to be irrelevant, because the game is constantly changing/evolving. DC's writer is going to have to pretty much start from scratch to get it done. That's probably going to take some time. Thank you for the heads up.

Well the art is done now, the game isn't out yet, and you're the primary coder.

Get back to work Code monkey.
Lemme ask you something.
Are you standing behind Dogeek? Do you have verifiable knowledge of what Dogeek is doing right now?
Just as I thought! You don't know that!
Here's my advice - Follow Rule #1. Respect other members!!
