If you want to fight bad guys, I can promise you will have opportunities for that in the future.

Turn-based combat is... I guess the problem would be that it would be a mountain of work for not much more tension than there is now in the game. It's kind of like why Superman isn't known for his turn-based RPGs. If you can select "Punch" most people just explode. Common criminals, purse snatches, generic thugs, and the like really can't compete with the Protagonist at this stage in the game. There won't be so many major villains in the game that they'll be fodder for leveling up.

I will try harder to make villain encounters more tense and engaging, though.

It's administered like an allergy test, but they're not actual allergies. Exposure to one of the allergens instead acts like a catalyst. Without it, the body never undergoes the necessary changes to develop superpowers, but once it's finished, more catalyst has no effect.

The entire early portion of the game is being looked at for revision. Bits and pieces will be replaced over time, and so I can't promise any development from those characters, including: elderly exposition man and super Karen, because I don't know if I'll have to cut them, remake them, or reintroduce them. I wouldn't place a lot of story emphasis on them at this time. The hospital encounter with Missus Powell, for example, is probably going to be remade in the next update. That is an event so old that the model, that outfit, and the whole lighting engine used at the time are no longer workable. They've all been updated since, and so the whole thing needs to be replaced.

Here's hoping no one has an involuntary explosion power like in Heroes or the "Immortal Supers" book series talked about in book 2. Because that would be bad.

There will be a notification in the change-log, but the goal is to keep everyone's save still compatible. No one will be forced to replay the game from the start, although the progression might be a little weird. For example, if I add an event like Valentina_revision_1, and you've already completed up to the current story, you'll see get the event, it will just seem really out of place. I'm doing it like this because I'll likely be fleshing out the early game for several months, and I don't want to force players to start over again each time I make changes.

I've got to say one of my favourite things about this game has been trying to piece together the power situation.

So the MC has been in multiple situations where he honestly should have been horrifically injured, has no allergies (or has a reaction to them that passes so quickly it seems like he has none), has progressed far past what should have been possible with his training without causing horrific damage to his muscles. And even excluding that obviously, he can't be powerless, since the legal framework was established early in the story and without powers, he would be in violation of the law by being in the field, so I don't imagine that's a viable story direction.

So what is his power?

If it wasn't for the first "manifestation" apparently being a shield or barrier of some sort I'd be betting on a healing or durability power, not least because I can see how that would be used for a "cliffhanger moment" of the MC seemingly dying before waking up 3 days later in a morgue or something. But unless it was Harper with the barrier initially then I can't see how that would fit (unless he can make an internal shield that he expanded to protect Harper, but he can't to just protect himself).

It could be a Peter Petrelli situation as well and his power is mimicry. Where he's mimicking the durability at the moment of someone else and the barrier was both him and Harper at the same time but I can't see that as a "member of a team power" unless it's a 1 at a time type deal. Where the first time he used Harper's ability (or the old man's) and then accidentally switched to another and is trying to tap into a power he no longer has. He also got a headache after shaking the old man's hand, so if he was mimicking an ability for the first time, that could have been the side effect.

I suppose mimicry would also explain the absent father as well if the father has a power that is difficult to control or has negative effects, then a child who could mimic that ability could cause huge damage to themselves or others through that power. It would also explain why the mother would never mention the powers, imagine having to tell your son he can never see his father because he could kill himself with his father's power. If he had a childhood manifestation like Harper did, with a more "intangible" power like mimicry he wouldn't really know of it, but his parents would react to it. Hell, the mother might even have a completely banal power with a negative side effect (like the MC's early tiredness in the intro) that the MC has been using his whole life without knowing it.

Then there is as other's have mentioned the idea of amplification, that his power is to enhance those of the people around him, it would make sense that he enhanced Harper's ability massively, and Chrys seems to be getting more control every day with hers so that would make sense as well. But then it doesn't explain the old man headache, well beyond being a headache, or the fact he hasn't hurt himself, or his physical changes unless he encountered someone else whose powers are interacting with him in a specific way (Ie. The Old Man, who many assume to be the father might have had healing power that was boosted or the girl on the train, who has suspiciously similar eyes to the old man, and who appeared on the same day).

I'm honestly having a lot of fun trying to see what fits and what doesn't for each of them. Then you've got things like Reality Warping and Superhuman luck that would also work and tie everything with a bow. You've got the idea of power suppression which fits with his powers activating immediately after a handshake from the old man.

On a more general note, while I don't quite want to say this is the best-written game I've seen on here for a while because that's a big claim to make, it certainly got some of the best flowing dialogue I've seen and it is really something special in my book.

Just finished all character arcs but the "need to do something about cat hair" one for Chrys. Absolutely love Riley and was very happy with how her arc played out.

Hero power guess is something about super durability and healing/recovery. Since things seem to bounce off him, but still hit that seems to make sense. No idea if Mrs P will ever join the harem, but looking forward to the hopefully positive reaction when she finds there is a harem but no jealously going on.

He doesn't have any powers that have been noticed or mentioned yet and Powell would have noticed that when training him.

His durability has all come from the suit so far. Without the suit he's still the same.

The only power that has manifested is he makes girls either attracted to him or horny but as far as anything superhero worthy, nothing has shown yet.

Hey there. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time getting this game to run. Making things difficult was literally the opposite of my goal with the new Android version.

I'm getting a lot of conflicting information on the Android version of the game. My patrons, by and large, are reporting no errors (aside from the navigating being difficult. Fixing that is on the to-do list!). The only issue that was reported was when a patron forgot to enable storage permission. I think part of the problem has something to do with players dabbling between the official and unofficial versions of the port. My advice: do not mix them. If you were playing the "unofficial version," then please continue to play that. the66 does a great job, and I am very appreciative of the work he's done to make Superheroes Suck accessible to a wider audience. The main reason I released my own Android version is because I do have a lot of players that don't frequent this forum. At this point in the game's life cycle, there's really no point to restarting your game. There will be over the next few releases, so if you're set on making the switch, I recommend after the next update.

That said, I have no idea what kind of bug would be disable menus before you even get into the game, which suggests to me that something went wrong with building the package to the game rather than any coding I did. I'm using the "universal" option to package the game rather than the three different options usually reserved for the Google Play store. If there is an error page, please private message me and I'll try to resolve it.

I'm sorry if this response isn't as comprehensive as you would like. A lot of bugs that get reported to me through F95zone are strange because they're not repeatable on my end. Sometimes, they're not even repeatable if I have their save file, which makes correcting it almost impossible unless they're screen sharing with me. The splash screen disappearing, the game forgetting the protagonist's own name, and missing file errors are all things that seem unique to this forum, which is why I think the unofficial versions are involved, though, that doesn't mean they're at fault. I have nothing against the "unofficial" versions of the game, and it's really humbling to see other people care about my little superhero porn game so much that they'll dedicate time to translations, compressed versions, and even ports to other systems like the Android port. They also run very well, but sometimes people will jump between the "Compressed" PC release and then the "Official PC" release and the save file can't handle that. That is where I usually discover the root of missing file errors.

He did take a weight lifting bench to the face without armor and was fine. So the durability may actually be a thing. However you are right Missus Powell never spoke about it. So maybe normals in that world can have hundreds of pounds/kilo objects smack them in the face and not notice.

I'm pretty sure if that was his power he wouldn't have been going to get tested and keep asking when his power was going to show with no one else having any clue whatsoever.

You can debate the point but absolute no one has said anything about a power showing and he hasn't noticed anything himself.

I can agree with you on that, just was an oddity. Maybe the dev will edit it to something else in the future, or as I mentioned that might be normal in their world.

Either there are some holes or something should be happening that isn't being mentioned.

Harper = Telekinesis

Chrys = Phasing

Chrys' Mom = Light skin cells on fire (Unsure if joke, or if only skin cells, maybe a threat of spontaneous human combustion to MC)

Valentina = Invisibility

Riley = Flying and some form of increased strength/durability.

Missus Powell = Super strength, durability, speed, anything really dealing with increased muscle ability, just strength seems to be the more prominent one.

Lovestruck = Some form of electrical/mechanical control. (This one is a bit odd, being the car kept moving even when it was upside down)

MC = Unknown (Maybe magic dick, maybe sex endurance, maybe pheromones, maybe durability, maybe some form of light shields)

Metal Mage = Magneto?

All the rest are unknown.
