What Cole underwent most definitely qualifies as torture.

No matter how someone twists and turns it even if its for his own "good" he was a child undergoing brutal experiments that left plenty of damage to his psyche.

There's a whole plethora of issues with what happened to Cole. Obviously we have no clue what happened to the other kids (yet) but I have no doubts that Bramon did other extreme things with them.

People confuse me with this honestly even if he knew it was for his own "good" there is no way he as a child would ever just "suck it up" and take all that pain and punishment without begging for it to stop.
I'm not saying it doesn't make sense for him to hate Bramon, nor that it is acceptable to do that to a child (or anyone really) against their will, as i said "there are quite a few valid reasons to critizice HERO", but the superhuman world is dangerous no matter your age or choice, Cole from his own present way of thinking should understand that his "torture" had the purpose to make him stronger, or even be the difference between him being alive or dead, from what Bramon said he had to do that because he was too young and otherwise his body wouldn't resist, also if he worships Ella for the way she acts, she is the one sending people to the most dangerous situations to get stronger, if anything Bramon had him in a controled enviroment were he could stop if in real danger.
Yes it makes sense and is entirely justified that he hates Bramon and HERO but he deludes himself in thinking that it didn't serve a purpose, that it wasn't in his own benefit and that it was just for sake of hurting him.
Edit: Well, the definition of torture is to hurt someone with the intent of extracting information, at least on my country's judicial system, i'm not arguing semantics but hurting somenone with the purpose of making their body stronger and increasing their survival chances doesn't seem like a book example of torture, i think that performing surgery against someones will while not providing anesthesia is a better comparison.

Didn't you get that from all the dialogue in the game that Cole hates Tanos even more?He is with SIN only because of Ella the man literally only cares about is being with Ella and to be with her he knows he needs to be strong that's it as for the torture part it is torture ffs physical and psychological both doing experiments on a kid who wasn't even a teen is torture lol.It doesn't matter what "good" they wanted to do it's still torturing a child and guess what it wouldn't be even that bad if they didn't keep him and the others as lab rats. The kids got zero nurturing there was no adult to give them love or even appreciation. If after all the physical torture he got some love and appreciation he wouldn't be this fucked up.So not only was it physical torture it was mental as well.Cole wouldn't be this fucked up if hero nurtured them not to mention just imagine your life as kid is about every day you just go and feel pain and that's it.It is more likely than not that kid would be fucked up.It doesn't excuse him being POS but it's understandable why he turned out like this.I got zero love for Cole and would kill him if I get the chance but let's not change the facts and act like what happened to him as a kid wasn't torture in both physical and psychological manner.
Yes, everything about Cole hating HERO makes sense, but my answer was about SIN being hypocritical, manipulative and self deluded while critizicing HERO, Cole definitly hates Tanos at least as much as Bramon but SIN as an organization uses the same methods as HERO or even worse, even though the same Cole was preaching about how HERO tortures people while Tanos was doing the exact same thing in SIN and he was very aware of that.
Despite their personal views and feelings both Cole and Shen represent their organization and act as if they weren't doing the same behind the curtains.

i haven't played through all the game yet but i have to say, i'm getting kinda tired of the S.I.N guys repeating the:
>uhhm actually we're the good ones!!
>H.E.R.O is evil just like us because you killed humans in a fight by accident too see
and bullshit like that (from Shen and the other kids)
i don't know if the author is intentional with all this bullshit or if he wants the player to actually believe it
Daily reminder that S.I.N is Langdon group, not Ella. It's just his pathetic attempt to beat Dexter, so he is just doing PR attacks. Ella wanted to use him, and the kids follow her.
When Ella say that MC will one day join her, she don't mean joining S.I.N.

Its a bunch of edgy 14 year olds wearing all black who LITERALLY named their organization SIN.
You LITERALLY refer to them ask kids in your own post.
I think they are being represented perfectly.

When Shen is talking to Elijah it's clear that it's for the purpose of manipulating him, Elijah has doubts and Shen explores then.
Back when Cole killed the TV host he mentioned that HERO tortures people but it's very clear that it's the same methods used by Tanos, it could be argued that Tanos is even less moral about his experiments than Bramon, HERO had a minimum threshold of safety to turn people into superhuman but it looks like SIN didn't.
Shen also seems like a genuinely nice guy who believes most of the things he says. Shen, Briar, and Zara all feel like a found family that would probably be very decent people if they were surrounded by fewer manipulative jerks. It's probably important to them to rationalize how HERO is just as bad if not worse.

if the next update is the 1.0, does it mean the game is about to end? because i want more of it... when is the next update coming out?
are there similar games?

From what WW said, 1.0 will be the update after the next one. And is predicted to launch at the end of the year.
1.0 will not be the end of Superhuman. We expect for 1.0 a retouch and updated art in the early sagas.

During the Battle of Diamonds, Ella bragged about her knowledge of monsters.
View attachment 3897042

Yet when Deryl questioned the Ella Doll about the Monster World environment...
View attachment 3897043

Well, someone got really defensive.

Ella Doll doesn't have a lot of Ella's memories and all we really know is that the Ella Doll was created before Ella met the MC and before she got her 5th evolution so it's been a while. It's possible that the doll just lacks a lot of knowledge about monsters that Ella had, or she just didn't want to answer any more questions.

For me, there is no doubt that Ella is the "human" character with the most knowledge about the Monsters and even the Apostles. The doll was last awakened before Ella met Mc in the nightclub, which is quite a long time ago. I still think that the doll still has a lot of knowledge and I just didn't want to say, or as much as possible, that she doesn't know that much about the Monster World
It would be Aglaecwif who would know more about the Monster World.

And damn, how I'd love to know more, especially about this God who abides in the heavens. Maybe he's like the dead body of the 8th Apostle, the question now would be, whose God? Not one of the Apostles, as far as we know they only reside on the Higher Plane, but then what would that be?

A forgotten God? Perhaps, there are not only the Apostles who claim the title of God, but the Arbiters, the Outer Twins, and God himself

I very much doubt that it could be the last one I mentioned, so it could be a forgotten God, an Arbiter or one of the Twins, although I don't really believe in the latter two.

Perhaps it's the lord of the abhumans who had powers like Henry. The part of the monster world the crew is in bears a striking resemblance to the description of the abhuman world we got from the Shopkeep's items, if my memory hasn't failed me. They had a final fight and lost, their world became a part of the monster world and their lord ascended to his final form.

Nah all of sin are on the tentacle to brain list. I hate how the twins got turned into superhumans because of them, I consider it bad storytelling, and in my opinion it ruined their character.

But regardless those fuckers laid hands on them, they die, the sooner the better.

Of course when we had the chance to kill Cole, he instantly got plot-armor, as I predicted. Because for the sake of more pointless melodrama in the future, he must live.

I swear I thought I was going mad when I could't get past the mall segment despite supposedly having done all of them.
For those googling this, like I was doing a couple minutes ago, (keywords: Valravn and DEAD END 24) the "waste of time" scene for training even more is not a real loop, you need to do it a couple of time until you progress through it.
On a side note, so far in the story Alice and Michale have been the real badasses over the protagonist. Not complaining at all, just at awe at these mad lads.

So far there are 4 groups of entities that are referred as gods: The 12 Apostles, the 6 Arbiters, the Outer Twins and the "God" mentioned in Apostles' memory connection

Have WeirdWorld actually acknowledged any of the above as the true "God" ?
So far, there's some structure to it: there's one God "God" in universe, the 12 Apostles are each a part of him (i.e. "I am God's Insight, I am God's Space, etc."), the Arbiters are the combined characteristics of each Apostle's twins (i.e. Order = Authority + Power, Evolution = Body + Memory, Infinity = Time + Space).

The Outer Twins are the only ones we don't have much to go on, but people have theorized that they represent each half of god, so the first set of Apostles (Authority, Power, Body, Memory, Time and Ether) and Arbiters (Order, Evolution and Infinity) are from the first Outer Twin; and the second set of Apostles (Darkness, Light, Truth, Fantasy, Destruction and Creation) and Arbiters (Soul, Paradox and Chaos) are from the second Outer Twin.
