It is in progress. The reason the version number is so close to v1.0 is because the creator didn't understand how to use version numbers until he hit like 0.8. Expect to see v0.9995, v0.9999, v0.99995, and v0.99999 before we see v1.0.
I am aware of that.
I meant, is this update fully fleshed out, or will it be like previous beta updates wherein the power gains aren't properly adjusted and certain scenes haven't been implemented?

The public release is out on patreon.

v0.999 Public Release

Yo, public release is out. Nothing worth noting about it other than a couple of fixes.

While I was showering a question hit me (All questions hit me when I'm going to shower Idk why.)

Do we REALLY know what an Evolution is? I mean it can't be so simple as just stages of Superhuman's growth, I feel like it has to be more than that. Because yes, Evo gives you power, but from where? Superhuman are only able to create energy out of nothing when they reach lv4 and I'm not even sure that energy means literally power. Evolution are not only physical events like growing from child to adult, it gives a fuckton of mystical vibes even if you're the most physical Superhuman. Evo freshens your connection with your Apostle, does that mean the Apostle from your line is the one giving you the power through Bluetooth? So.. that means that Superhuman's that can't evolve are just not worth the energy from their Apostle?

And having to complete trials to reach your fifth means Evo is authorized by the Apostle?

I assume that monster energy comes from this higher plane that the Apostles/Arbiters come from. Apostles and Arbiters can access this energy directly, meaning they have infinite capacity and are only really limited by the speed at which they can draw energy from that plane. Whereas Superhumans must use the natural processes of the body to create that connection to the higher plane and generate monster energy. Evolutions are, therefore, significant structural and metaphysical improvements of the body's ability to access that higher plane.

Yeah, there's not really any place they could get the energy from normally. Superhumans use so much more energy than their bodies should be able to provide. Maybe their bodies could be converting tiny amounts of mass into energy, but that wouldn't explain the powers that actively turn energy into matter like the MC's. You can't turn a tiny amount of matter into energy and then back into a large amount of matter. Getting their energy from an external source like the higher plane makes the most sense. And we've actually got an example of that in action, the first Eye dead end has it regenerating super-fast because it has a strong connection to the higher plane to draw on. So that would be my assumption. Superhumans below level 4 get their power from the higher plane, and even level 4s and 5s might still use it for supplementing their ex nihilo output.

Some part of it must have to do with how the Apostles are linked to the fundamental aspects of existence itself. Perhaps superhumans and monsters alike draw upon the forces inherent to the universe in accordance to whatever Apostle trait(s) they are tied to. Concepts of things like Power or Darkness or Creation probably mold the superhuman associated with them as they're evolving, granting them a greater grasp of the concept not only in their mind but their body as they progress and continue to embody the concept more and more.

As requested by zZorua, an unofficial android port:

I had to use a compressor to get it under the 2GB file limit of Android, and I had to fix game/scripts/day41.rpy ('scene black with dissolve: ' should be 'scene black with dissolve' so without ':' at the end). It should work fine, but I can't make any guarantees.

Bernhardt, Henri and Malik are survivors from other monster invasion cycles or something? They seem much stronger than the Chosen. One of the bad ends i got was 'ascending' but still getting 1 shotted by Bernhardt. Plus Malik seem to be searching for his people on a dead planet in his dream.

According to Malik, Dexter's father found him living on the streets as a human and turned him into a superhuman. So he couldn't be at least.

I understood that scene as maybe Malik was searching various planets for our displaced group.

I was under the impression that it was a dream conjured by Aglaecwif when Malik was trying to rescue Alexis, she was offering to show him the truth. In that dream on the dead planet he was lamenting his dead brethren and his faith. Which kinda makes me think the trio superhumans might be from another world that succumbed to the monster invasion. However it seems they all got infected with their superhuman powers while in this world and their ages don't add up too, so that assumption might be wrong. I just find the trio Bernhardt, Henri and Malik to be mysterious outliers. Their powers are superior to Chosen that have thousands of years of mutation or multiple cycles of experience. Mind you they don't even get selected to be Chosen, not sure how they avoided that or avoided the eyes of the Apostles. No way in hell they can be that strong without having some kinda insane background. Henri's background at least seems to be connected to the vestige(a dead human civilization) and they refer to him as the ultimate weapon that can contend with the Apostles, so i guess he is a reincarnation or he found that weapon/artifact and became strong.

Code:
Aos "There are 12 core traits that exist within monster kind. Stemming from 12 great entites."
Aos "There are 12 genetic lines that exist within monster kind. Stemming from 12 great entities."
Okay so apparently the public update corrected all instances of "core trait" with "genetic line". Weird pulling some shenanigans again.

In this update, how do the serum challenge and Liz party scenes differ?
I wouldn't let MC help Liz, so
1) Deryl said he had been developing the serum.
2) Liz wondered what would have happened if she ingested it.
