I don't remember Shen being level 4 for that long. When we first get introduced to him, don't they say something about him only recently becoming level 4?

It's implied that he evolved to level 4 almost immediately before we first saw him, since he and Zhara talk about how he hadn't had the chance to change into clothes that fit him better yet. But that would still give Shen nearly a year of a head start on the MC if we evolved right this moment. That's a pretty substantial lead. Not enough to make it impossible to defeat him, but enough that the MC will have to put some effort into it.

I see a lot of talks and discussions about what powers or abilities the MC can cook up but not so much with what the MC can equip himself i.e weapons and tools. He's an adaptive powerhouse no doubt but that's all with in, Some good gear can really be helpful or come in clutch like the match up against Shen. MC got folded bad by Shen's mind powers and left him vulnerable to get captured, yes the tentacles stepped up and mom saved him from the nightmare version of eternal tsukuyomi but still MC got caught lacking, Something like a psychic hood would level the playing field. But what do you guys think?

I could see MC working together with Deryl to create his own sort of stone. During the fight against Cole MC says something along the lines of the stone feeling right for his abilities but not quite being a perfect match. Being able to have something like the stone that allows for creation/integration of long-range weaponry would be nice since MC is primarily a close-to-mid range fighter

Deryl has already done that. You even have the option of using it against Daoine Danu, the monster that attacks Alice.

Doesn't the Mc need to make physical contact at least once with a person to establish a connection? Even if he has unknowingly impacted Deus's life he hasn't ever touched him has he? So how can he form a connection with Deus?

Maybe Deus' aura was that impactful to the MC, not sure. Deus catching MC sneak into the HERO base probably impacted his Memory enough to create a connection???

As for Ella being unable to ID a monster for Emily maybe the 7th's power makes it hard for Ella's eyes to determine human compatibility with the 7th's lineage?

I think it does and was gonna mention this in the theory I currently working on that explains Monster Trait interactions. I will be posting it today, but you beat me to the punch.

While it may be too spot on, I've always thought the same. Wiki states: "Valravn can fully pass on the untainted trait of the 7th Apostle, as if its "Lord" had chosen to do so itself. Though it will only consider doing it for the bravest and most worthy of souls." So that would beg the question what could little Emi (or shadow) do that would impress the Dark Knight? Thematically it would be a great way for Emily's character growth arc to conclude, but I'd be hard-pressed to think of a way to make it work.

I don't think WW could make it work without using an Lord of Dark Avatar corpse. Valrav'n would find even current Emily too cowardly and unworthy.

It's almost a cert that Emily was going to be made into a Superhuman, the game was dropping unmissable hints, with Ella constantly remarking how amazing her potential was and it was her weak mindset that made her unsuited for it, which has changed with her route.

The question is what turns her, my money is on Valravn and she gets the darkness trait, it's the only trait that seems to have no human spawn with a strong connection to the MC.

Wow.... I guess I really look right past all of these hints, but it would be awesome if she was turned!

Yeah but I meant in comparison to the Mc, who's still a level 3. By the time the Mc reaches level four too the time gap will be pretty substantial.

The time matters, Shen has been a level 4 for a good while, and Aglaeqwif seems sort of protective of him and she has been around him so chances are she mentored him. Those are some huge advantages, being a level 4 for a long while and being close and guided by your monster parent are huge advantages.

Remember most superhumans who are turned are most of the times by ravaging lunatic of monsters so there's zero chance for interaction or guidance,
Shen being the Spawn of a chosen, and that chosen being one as powerful and, by their standards, ''friendly'' as Aglaeqwif is a huge deal.
Who knows how many secrets and techniques she imparted on him, she doesn't seem like the type to create a spawn for no reason, she did say she loves her children ( biological anyway ) so I really believe she mentors Shen.

Sure Shen seemed more surprised than worried when Mc broke through his dream the first couple of times, but I seriously doubt Shen has ever shown anything close to his full potential. Even Mc notes that Shen exuded ''more aura than Cole ever did'' when they face off sortly before the monster arc.

Not saying Mc wouldn't beat him, he did after all solo Cole whilst they both were level 3s, so clearly the time factor of how long one has had their powers for isn't always a deciding factor for winning ( but it is a advantage nonetheless ), but against Shen it would NOT be an easy win, seriously doubt he would ''easily fold'', big doubt.

And strengthening his memory is good against foes like Shen, sure, but we don't know nearly enough about either memory or dream powers to say for sure which counters which.

Yeah that take is kinda dumb. Really hate that when people say MC can easily fold someone on his lvl or stronger like some kind of Mary Sue character when in the game he's anything but. In literally every major fight in the game MC had to fight tooth and nail and make the best use of his tactical thinking to win and there were still plenty dead ends waiting for him if he fucked up. This is a story with real characters and real challenges not your average shitty Isekai anime which whole purpose is for the self insert op protag to trample over everyone.

NO MC will not easily fold Shen just because he has trained his Memory part and evo to lvl 4. Memory is not stronger than Fantasy mentally and Shen being a pure spawn of Fantasy meaning he has much better mastery of his mental power than MC's, and Shen also has a big power advantage having been a lvl4 since BoD.

NO MC will not easily fold moon twin if Shen wasn't there. Syla explicitly stated that they were just showing a fraction of their power and the fact that they wanted to catch MC alive changed a lot of things, and in any other circumstances even individually they are a dangerous foe.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Having access to hero resources and not constantly needing to be on edge in the monster world may allow him to create a superior version, though maybe not with things beginning to deteriorate on earth as well.

There is also the possibility that Aglae teach him spells/something outside Monster Power, since that seem to be a thing and she seem to be particularly knowledgeable about such Dark Arts as she called, it wouldn't surprise me if when really pressed, Shen began to use things outside his Monster Trait, not the lineage of other Apostle, no, but straight up Magic

Going off the monster reports we have so far they will probably all have much more varied origins than you'd think so it's hard to put them in boxes but there is a few (well only 2 or maybe even only 1 lmao) we should know for sure thanks to said monster reports. That's Kenny who was turned by a Minyak so he'd be a mix of Authority, Body and Dark since that's what the Minyak is (50% Authority, 40% Body and 10% Dark) and Met who I'm going to assume was turned by a Leigong similar to Ella's plan for his big bro and the Leigong is 58% Power, 34% Ether and 8% Fantasy. We know Oscar was turned by a Wepwawet specifically too but even though we've fought one of those I don't think we've had a monster report for that yet? Either way I doubt that thing is pure Truth but not sure what else it would have my guess would be some Authority and maybe a tinnny bit of Time?

Fun list either way! I commend the effort of going through and listing every single character like that some of them I'd forgotten even existed lol

Wow thanks for the info and appreciation! Yeah I'm just broad stroke categorizing. I can't believe that I didn't pick up that Kenny or Oil was part Dark! Can't believe a Leigong is part Fantasy! I really can't believe that there's no Destruction in its lineage.

Which one is Space? I thought the 12 apostles were Authority, Power, Body, Memory, Time, Ether, Light, Darkness, Truth, Fantasy, Destruction and Creation.
