I have no immediate plans to make Snapshot free since it is meant as a prototype of just one aspect of Supermodel. The free releases will likely begin with Supermodel itself later this year, though I can't give any exact timing for that, either.
I just put out a hotfix (version 2.0.1) for an embarrassing bug that saw cards only added to your deck once, no matter how many copies of that card you had. I strongly recommend updating if you already got version 2.0.0. You won't lose any progress.

I've been following this game for a while now and look forward to when I can play the free release of Supermodel Snapshot.
Playing the V1 was a highlight and it really shows the passion and work you put into game development that you've come this far.

Thank you! I'm still not sure whether or not to even release Snapshot for free at any point. After all, its main purpose is to serve as a prototype to test and tweak the card game with before going into Supermodel itself, allowing to focus more on the storytelling at that point rather than having to devote all my energy to technical stuff and game balance. Snapshot will quickly become an artifact of its time, and it was never really meant for non-backers. But we'll see. I might change my mind. Snapshot 2.0 feels pretty solid in its own way, though it obviously pales in comparison to my plans for Supermodel.

I played 1.0 quite a bit, and really like the changes. "2 Usable Heat for any discard" in particular creates interesting decision points each turn. I like that you're starting to flesh out each of the three into a sort of "color pie" (Confidence seems to be focused on gaining heat, Skill on damaging challenge cards, Trust on resources like draw or usable heat discounts) and have some branching ways to implement those engines.
I have found a bug though (present in 2.0.1) : When I drag the card "Burst of Inspiration" over the engines in the center (on my way to discarding it) an exception is thrown for "TypeError: cannont unpack non-iterable int object". I can Ignore it, it will repeat if I drag over the other cards, but if Ignored and the card is discarded, play proceeds fine AFAICT. I can provide the full traceback if you need it but it should be easy to reproduce.

This is exactly how I've separated them, indeed. You're meant to create decks that focus on one or two aspects over the others, but I'm not sure the current version is robust enough for that to make complete sense. Yet. The more advanced scenarios in the full game will likely require a better understanding of these categories, at least on higher difficulties.
I have received two other people's stack traces for this exact problem, and I have made some changes in the code to try and fix it, but there is no obvious cause. I suspect it might be an incompatibility with a certain way of declaring Python variables on the line that produces the exception, but there is nothing wrong with it, and it works perfectly well on my system. Hopefully, the next update should fix this problem. As you point out, it's perfectly okay to click Ignore for this one. It doesn't do any harm.

I'm hardly an expert already, and I haven't gotten all the cards unlocked yet, but so far it feels to me like Trust is indispensable. With good card draw (Energy Drink! Burst of Inspiration! This Isn't Working!) and Attack cards (or Instant cards of suitable damage values), I could live without Skill engine. With the Skill engine that pays Heat for defeating CCs, I could live without Confidence engine. But even with the Confidence engine that gives extra Usable Heat, the card costs just get too high for me to want to live without Trust engines.
Maybe that's just me, or maybe there's cards I haven't found yet that could solve this (say a Confidence Instant comparable to Trust's "Burst of Inspiration", like "must have Confidence 3 to play this, gain 20 Usable Heat" or "must have Confidence 3, next card is free", something like that.
And as you say, I assume the "campaign" in the main game will have scenarios that lean heavily into each of the three archetypes, rewarding you for building specific decks to counter as appropriate.
You can expect some of the wildest card draw cards, and a few others, to get significantly reduced in effectiveness in a future version, especially when you attempt to chain/exploit them. I might introduce a new mechanic to do so, but it should make the game more interesting, not less.
Version 2.1.0 is now out and offers a brand new game mechanic, Burnout, as well as bugfixes, balance adjustments, and a couple of minor tweaks. Burnout is my attempt to create a soft wall for decks that try to exploit certain cards for unreasonable payoff, but it shouldn't have a significant effect on "normal" decks. It does open up for more strategy in deck design, however.
Oh, and I want to add this: Unless something major pops up, I am now done with the standalone Supermodel Snapshot. My work will now focus on Supermodel: Defenders of Desire, which I expect will get a separate thread on this forum once the first version is out later this year.
Supermodel will contain everything you see in the current version of Snapshot, but it will also feature the beginnings of a brand new story written by yours truly, with the card game integrated into the experience as an optional (but important) component.
The payoff for all this work is almost in sight. I can't wait to share the fruits of my labor with everyone. I want Supermodel's story to make Long Live the Princess pale in comparison.

Just in case this also slipped in the main game.I was about to say that this error must have been fixed since then, but glancing at the code, I notice the mistake I made. It's an extremely obscure bug because of the conditions required and because, even if the conditions are satisfied, it's completely random if and when it will happen, so you might just be the very first person to ever see this occur. Hopefully, you'll also be the last. I'll fix this bug, but I'm likely not putting out any more versions of Snapshot.

Yeah, not gonna lie, not rooting against Belle or anything, but nothing about a CCG excites me. Only one I've ever been able to kinda stomach is Gwent, and it was never fun just not as bad as say Magic or all the other big card games.
And I loved Belle (character), sister, and Nell and the younger girls in LLTP. None of the girls teased in Supermodel excites me at all.
I hope to be proven wrong, but it seems to be another MILF fest with boring fetishes.
That and the 3D models themselves eem to be hitting uncanny valley. LLTP was cartoon enough to not fall into it, but being able to see like, wrinkle lines and smile lines in these just hit uncanney valley hard.

Hard disagree. I like card games, I like superheroines, and I even like sexy photo shoots, so this could be one of my favorite games if it ever gets finished.

I'm not sure why people who are not interested in the concept or design of this game are even posting in this thread, but to each their own, I suppose. *shrug*
Anyway, I'm considering creating a public version of Supermodel Snapshot while we all wait for the full Supermodel experience (working my ass off on this one right now). How would you all feel about a version of Snapshot that is fully featured except that it has no rare or epic cards? This would mean that there are about 15 or so fewer cards to gain, but the vast majority of the cards are common or uncommon anyway. This version would be offered for free so that anyone can get a taste of the game that I'm making. It's not great that the version available in this thread is enormously outdated since that gives a poor impression of my game. But at the same time, my supporters should get something exclusive for their money. This slightly trimmed version sounds like a decent compromise to me, at least.

I agree on both counts, but after having played the version posted here a few times when it first came out, I don't really feel like I have much more curiosity about how the card game element is developing. At this point, I'm much more curious about the narrative and lewd elements. If it were me, my recommendation to give a better impression of the game would be to have some little tease of the story or the sexiness in addition to an updated (but incomplete) version of the card game.
