well, yeah, change engine is a huge risk sometimes, especially to those solo-person developers, they don't have a team to rely on. BUT, change from renpy to unity is still a brave attempt, anyway unity is a very powerful engine which means more game features in future and good for a developer to plus his career.
Maybe the developer need more time to adapt new engine and new program languages (C is complex than python), or if he uses some python-plugin, he need to time to fix some problems..
Or, there may be a better way: using an AI assistant
It's the 3rd version of Superpowered which will never be finished, I don't really think the engine is the problem :ROFLMAO:

Is this really abandoned? I have not checked in a while.
He still works on it for his patreons on the End of the Month Stream he does in Discord (Last Month he continued with the gloryhole and I think Allie).
I think he bit more than he can chew easily with this last under the hood upgrade of Loser, we keep finding bugs (he has been fixing them for at least 3 months now) and he still adds new stuff . Feature lock is not something he seems to like...
Long Story short, yes, he is doing renders for SP2. But do not expect a new version any time soon

Wait, he's still there? I don't see any activity from Patreon since 10/2024

It's been many months of struggle to get the game working with all the internal upgrades I did, but It's finally finished. You can find the download link at the bottom of the Changelog .
I will now start my focus on SP2. I will be limiting myself to a strict 2 month cycle from here on out for a good while. This last release was a painful struggle and I can't put myself through that again.

I just seen this on patreon.

Actually... He has released Loser a while ago, and has been working since then on SP2 (apart from fixing critical bugs on the latest release for Loser) He is working currently on some animations for the mood changes... something he trialled on a separate side project he has.

Progress was always slow, even on the first one, with so many images to render and working on characters. Being part time didn't help.

How much of the previous build is there in this game?
like maybe 3-5% at best right now since they're still focusing on the game's mechanics and framework. considering the content of the previous superpowered don't expect this game to have any meaningful amounts of content (no grinding is not content) till about 2027-2028 at the very least since it only gets updated 3 times a year in 2-month cycles (judging from the changelogs per release you'd be lucky to get 2 chars per update and mind you it's not completed content) I would say it would take 2029-2030 at current pace to even come close to original super powered's amount of content. though to be fair the author did say he switched engines (again) since it would be easier for him, but I'll believe it when I see it.

The only issue is that he included the morph forms of the MC already into the game which means he is rendering not only the base form of the MC but all the morph forms too. I know it saves time, but it still slows down new content waiting for the renders.
