No news for months, because I had a severe asshole breakdown. Many reasons, , in part, pancreatitis, which brought me an ocean of pain. I sorry for disappearing. Now for the news.
Sweet reserve choked me. I thought of a way to replace jrpg combat with something casual, but I don't want to code on Maker at all, and the system through common events didn't take off, because Maker doesn't manage to process them and missed important moments (like leaving the battle).
I also tried to implement a plugin 3DMZ turning everything into 3D, and get the game a little closer to Triangle Strategy or Octopath Traveler. But this engine does not take out this feature normally and everything lags, especially if the location is large.
Animations turned out to be implemented normally, but I have to make them in the Chinese program DragonBones, which crashes and in which there is not even a coloring of the weights of the bones - you need to manually adjust.
All this and the need to continue the plot, which I came up with in a half-dream, killed the motivation.
In the end I want to return to Unity, to start learning Unity in action again and try to make small projects, for example hentai with Tamagotchi mechanics or quests (buttons, dialogs, pixelhunting), maybe some other casual mechanics that are on mobiles. Another example - Doxy or Balsamique games. Animating 2D on unity is also much easier and I don't know why I didn't do it right away.
But the basis is still art. So the main task is to develop a tempo and bombard them at regular intervals, at least with fanarts. I hope no one minds if I focus on the drawings first. This is the Way.
I thought of dropping Sweet reserve ruthlessly despite the achievements, but in the end I was inspired by Harem in the Fantasy World Dungeon (Slave Harem). A mediocre novel with no normal plot, no antagonism, no twists, just a lot of sex (which seems to be enough), a world with game mechanics where everyone has a profession. There's a certain depth to the way the protagonist tries to learn more about the common sense that the rest of the world lives by without arousing suspicion. In general, thanks to him I've come to terms with jrpg combat and in principle, if it is normally fit into the world and thought out, it will be fun. Plus due to the plugin sprites of enemies will be animated, which also adds liveliness. Another inspiration is I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship. The same chill nonsense, slice of life with a harem where the protagonist shoots pirates at the same time looting cash and girls. In general, I plan to remake my SR in a similar manner - slice of life harem, Gods bestow professions. But it's not fast, most likely release in November (the same unfinished version).
For now, everything will be in this order: regular art (any) > minigames on Unity > Sweet Reserve remaster. Anyway I'll be shitting news, get ready.
