everyone starts there where you are right now. At first you the player feel connected with the mc, and you start to feel something you shouldn't. After a while you will get the hang of it and your brain will automatically detach any emotional connection with the mc. You will then be on the middle spot of being the mc while being a third-party and you start enjoying it.
