Imo , the "ugly bastard" is more about power swap then self insertion ( no one is that ugly xD ), same as the checkered shirt nerdy guy boning the blonde bossy cheerleader, it makes no sense, that's why it's funny and endearing sometimes.

The dev provides an save file with every update
I am playing the 2nd part and it only came with 56 sec gameplay save file so I wanted to ask if there is a complete save file
Small correction to 4-kun, when the dev doesn't provide a save (The one you're talking about is probably an auto-save right after starting a new game), that means the latest update starts right after one of the 'starting points' that you can freely choose when choosing a new game in the title screen, usually the latest one (Unless you're asking for a save with all the gallery unlocked?).
Yep with all gallery unlocked it helps with tracking if you have or haven't missed some scenes
