Unfortunately I think the opposite of you. In the future there will be less games with good settings and development. Porn games in general has been around for decades so people's tastes are pretty developed and the modern trend seems be more action and faster pace. There are some NTR with good story but those are becoming fewer. To have a good story it takes a lot of effort and today's most valuable resource is attention. People's time is valuable so that means it is extremely difficult to have enough people invested to last until the end. Just look at this game, when the pace slowed down for character development people complained so much. Why bother making making a good story if not enough people wants it?There are few NTR games that have a good story, most are just scenes, the first harassment involves sex in the next scene...
I think that in the next few years we could have a game with a lot of setting, history, development, etc., since now the devs are growing and learning, we could have more things to do.
I believe it's a two-way trend. On one hand, I agree that industries, in general, have shifted towards prioritizing quantity over quality. However, on the other hand, audiences are becoming increasingly weary of repetitive content. In the realm of adult games, I'd argue that the quality of some titles has actually improved compared to, let's say, five years ago.Unfortunately I think the opposite of you. I still remember Clannad, YUNO, and Fate/Stay Night as some of my favorite stories but I know if those games were made today, most people won't care about them because the lack of action and long narrative. I don't blame any developers changing their game to fit people's tastes. They want to a living from their craft.
I play every type of game there is, and man. There are only the same game, just with different characters and different scenes... Few devs really have history and development like Shinachiku, Acerola, BBQ and there are 2 more that are being developed, one this year and another for 2025, there was still Black Rune which The dev disappeared and never came back as he was focused on a lot of things.Unfortunately I think the opposite of you. I think the biggest issue was Fujino starting to make 'polls', especially the character one that unnecessarily bloated the game before the big issues he had at the start of Part 2 happened: Kyouko and Sinon WERE always gonna be part of the game, they were teased since back in Part 1, but Alice and Liz for example were only added after they won a character poll, then he also added Administrator/Quinella on top of that (Which was the only one that was his own initiative to be fair).I play every type of game there is, and man. I don't mind having scenes all the time, but there should be a story and its development, and I'm like that in manga too... I don't read when there's sex right away, and this SAO is only like that because the dev releases its game every month, then fans end up getting angry because there are so few scenes, which I don't blame, but it can't be exaggerated.
The problem with this Part 2 is that there are a lot of characters that Fujino added and the development of Asuna and Inoda was a little later... Like Alice, Kyoko and now Sinon, I don't mind that and I like the development, but when there is only dialogue and few actions, scenes and/or something to do, and you just read there and almost nothing happens. But it's a shame that people don't have patience, if they had patience this game could be one of the best with the plans that Fujino had planned.
Everything is circular so it is possible. But that is only with a indie developer. All the developers working with big studios won't take the risk and try to make something special but will instead rely on the try and true formula. The games in the past was special because everyone was experimenting to figure out the formula. Now everyone knows the formula the ones with the money don't want to experiment anymore.I believe it's a two-way trend. The price of success! Back when he was mostly unknown, he only had himself to answer to. But now with so many supporters to answer to, he can't just do what he wants unless he wants to go back to mostly unknown and diehard fans. To choose between money and passion. Not a easy choice.I think the biggest issue was Fujino starting to make 'polls', especially the character one that unnecessarily bloated the game before the big issues he had at the start of Part 2 happened: Kyouko and Sinon WERE always gonna be part of the game, they were teased since back in Part 1, but Alice and Liz for example were only added after they won a character poll, then he also added Administrator/Quinella on top of that (Which was the only one that was his own initiative to be fair).
Then when all the complaints started getting to him he started making more polls that he hasn't been managing well (As shown when BOTH polls so far weren't 'locked' so anyone could vote as many times as they wanted from their google account instead of just once per account), and the backlash of people complaining again and again for the lack of patience and these polls has made him go back and forth a bit too much.
Sinon and Kyoko I think are ok, but Liz also doesn't see a problem since she's become the main character now, the biggest complaint was when she got to Alice's part, where there were almost no scenes and such, not even with Asuna, which people would think Inoda would be in. with Asuna and show them doing things on screen, while Kirito works with Alice.I think the biggest issue was Fujino starting to make 'polls', especially the character one that unnecessarily bloated the game before the big issues he had at the start of Part 2 happened: Kyouko and Sinon WERE always gonna be part of the game, they were teased since back in Part 1, but Alice and Liz for example were only added after they won a character poll, then he also added Administrator/Quinella on top of that (Which was the only one that was his own initiative to be fair).

It's even worse when you recall the guy literally fled his country and started practically from 0 to be able to continue making his games, so yeah, it's a bit of a sad situationThe price of success! Man, I would choose money, too... But I wouldn't let people hinder my development. The country where I live has a lot of problems with the minimum wage, I would go that route too, unfortunately. The price of success! Back when he was mostly unknown, he only had himself to answer to. Liz is easier to accept because she was added to the main plot, which is what most people cares for, but doesn't change the fact that if she hadn't been around then it would have been only Kyouko who had a subplot with Inoda there and things would probably have gone faster anyway because there would be no need to develop another new character and induct it into the plot XDSinon and Kyoko I think are ok, but Liz also doesn't see a problem since she's become the main character now, the biggest complaint was when she got to Alice's part, where there were almost no scenes and such, not even with Asuna, which people would think Inoda would be in. with Asuna and show them doing things on screen, while Kirito works with Alice.
Research is good, but he put it in as soon as he started developing the game, which was a big hindrance. If he had done it before starting, it would have been fine.

Once this game is close to finish, I will definitely suggest to him his next game he should just do a GoFundMe or Kickstarter to fund his entire game instead of the monthly subscription. If there isn't a monthly requirement, then hopefully he can have the balance between money and passion. He should has enough reputation by then to have enough people pay upfront.Man, I would choose money, too... But I wouldn't let people hinder my development. I think the best way is to finish the game all at once without updating, and put out a demo for people to test, if there are any bugs and so on.Once this game is close to finish, I will definitely suggest to him his next game he should just do a GoFundMe or Kickstarter to fund his entire game instead of the monthly subscription. That just can't happen with this game if he wants monthly money. Everyone who is supporting him now is expecting regular updates. If he suddenly changes to release the game when it is finished, most of his supporters will just cancel their subscription and then restart their subscription for one month to get the game when it is finished. I hope for the next game he would try the pay upfront model. Then at least everyone who paid knows what they are getting and be okay with it.I think the best way is to finish the game all at once without updating, and put out a demo for people to test, if there are any bugs and so on.
That's what I think and I think it's better this way than there are few things per month, if he wants a long game like Naruto, Dragon Ball, One Piece and these games that have a tremendously large universe, it has to be complete, since the monthly fee would have many complaints due to having many fans of these animes.
Yes, this game won't be able to do much with the payment, but in the future it would be possible to do something, but in the next game if he wants to make a big game with big development, it will have to be the entire game without having regular updates , so as not to have so much pressure and complaints. Now if it's one with little history, then yes he could use a monthly fee, to be able to continue making more games, but seeing Fujino it seems like he wants to make a big game, but with this pressure it's difficult to do soThat just can't happen with this game if he wants monthly money.
