I mean, that's only if you ask here or in similar forums, LMAO, if anything vanilla KiriSuna content is so massively widespread that one can get tired of it if you're not a hardcore fan of them XD Games-wise, not so much mostly because making a game requires lots of effort and time so doing one of something that already is so present in the canon and fanon media is usually never worth it for most people, that's why you almost never find big one-on-one vanilla games about the main couple of actually existing series, people aren't really interested in making those (Unless a super big fan of said pairing happens to coincidentally be an H-game-maker).
KiriSuna is an interesting case. The author obviously meant them to be true love/OTP but Kirito still have more women fall for him and gets into harem shenanigans. This causes me at least not to be invested in their relationship and prefer NTR over vanilla stories. I know in other series where the main couple doesn't do harem shenanigans I don't like their NTR stories. Maybe it is a case of being a true love couple while still getting to do harem shenanigans that makes KiriSuna such a popular NTR target.

I mean, not really, if anything is the opposite, they're so overly perfect together which is why they get so much NTR content XD Reminder, the 'harem shenanigans' is more of a case of outside/hater perspective, SAO is actually very different from the series that always do that...outside Alice, and because of honestly beyond-justified reasons, there is absolutely no true 'harem shenanigans' happening between the other girls and Asuna, if anything they canonically respect and support her and Kirito's relationship and legit have an honest friendship with them while putting their own feelings aside, absolutely nothing like the cliche harem tropes that always have the girls fighting each other for even a smidge of the guy's affection and, if the main couple is actually in a relationship, having 0 respect for him and the girlfriend, all of which SAO avoids (Beyond the occasional joke that everyone is on and they laugh off with no isseues). Is only from outsider's perspective or those that barely pay any attention to SAO while watching it that it has any "harem shenanigans" at all XP

Though ironically, in a parallel to what you said, I have gotten a lot less invested in them because of how much canon was constantly shoving them down my throat and how much I liked several of the other girls more than Asuna, nevermind how much the writing of everyone else has had to suffer to favor Asuna over the years, which is probably why I'm lowkey a fan of SAO Reverse NTR, aka when the other girls try to steal Kirito from Asuna...which basically never happens in any hentai content because of double-standards, sadly :p (Extra-ironic, the only big SAO AU that actually DOES have a lot and very marked harem shenanigans, the SAO Gameverse, is imo not only much better written than Canon SAO but also develops all of the characters and their relationships both with Kirito and as a group much better and organically than Canon ever managed, which shows both things don't go hand in hand, and this despite almost doubling the number of the main cast!)

Well, Reki Kawahara built the interaction of the characters so that everything revolves around the harem, but never crosses the border. In the novel, unlike Fujino's game, the characters generally understand everything. Asuna realizes that Kirito is too good at what he does, and "girls in distress" are constantly flocking to him like moths to a fire. In the novel "Alicization," Asuna, when she joined "Underworld," wonders how Kirito, even sitting in an armchair like a vegetable, is able to gather loyal friends around him, and especially girls who have been taking care of him for years.:LUL: Kirito also understands that the girls around him have feelings. And he always doubts in his mind whether this or that action will be considered treason.

Volume 6 - Chapter 9, before the final round of BoB. Kirito: "I really won’t dare to say this to a real person in the real world. No, considering that I already have a girlfriend in Asuna, it’s unforgivable even in the virtual world. However, I dare to swear to god that this isn’t about trying to get a date in the VR world, but to fulfill my duty and mission, and also a necessary step to ensure Sinon’s own safety."

During BoB's time, Kirito had already realized that Sinon had feelings (just as Asuna knew it) and was worried that both girls would misunderstand his actions.

Plus, I've already written about the "There is But One Ultimate Way" dojin. Although it is considered uncanonical, however, it was written by Reki Kawahara himself and essentially describes a full-fledged harem with Asuna's participation. So whether to consider it canon or not is a matter of personal preference :WeSmart: -

"Kirito awakes in a bed in Underworld and soon realizes that he's surrounded by Alice, Asuna, Leafa, Silica, Lisbeth, Sinon and Yui. After they wake up, they start talking and Kirito asks for answers about what's happening. In the conversation they reveal their uncertainty about the future, as Asuna and Lisbeth are about to graduate, and chances for meetings may become rare.
As such, they want to spend the last of their holidays together. All the girls confessed their love for Kirito:love:, and made an agreement to get married to Kirito in Underworld, unbound by real-world constraints.
As their holiday is ending in a few hours, Kirito agrees to quickly get married at the church in Centoria. The girls then revealed that they all are in the Soul Translator running at 10,000 times faster, and still have 5 years, 8 months to go."

As for the reverse NTR, Fujino implemented it in his own style. Liz wants to take Kirito, Suguha wants to own Kirito, Sinon also wants Kirito as a toy, apparently. Even Alice, for a hypnotized whore, spends too much time on Kirito. But Fujino did everything very clumsily and without zest. So I guess that's not what you wanted... :HideThePain:

Interesting different people from different conclusions from the same observations.

Maybe part of why I am not invested in their relationship is because how unrealistic the "overly perfect" couple seems. They don't go through the standard relationship hardships but instead the repetitive "one gets hurt/kidnapped by the bad guy, and the other goes to rescue the other" hardship. This makes their relationship artificial to me so I prefer the NTR.

Also part of harem shenanigans i dislike is the same plot of every arc of "Kirito meets a new girl who doesn't know Asuna, she falls in love with Kirito because of his strength/kindness/good looks, she meets Asuna and accepts their relationship, but she stays close to Kirito and stays single". This tangles the possibility of Kirito with someone else which is partly the reason of SAO's popularity. The gameverse you like is great example. But this also dilutes the KiriSuna relationship for me.

Yeah, same regarding KiriSuna, though that didn't make me like standard NTR any more in my case, it did make me tired of their relationship and start favoring several of the other girls XD (Being fair, the author DID try and fix it by doing several major retcons so thier relationship felt more 'natural' compared to what Volume 1 originally showed, but if you're not super-invested in KiriSuna from the beginning like me then the retcons just felt forced and boring or more excuses to make everything revolve around their relationship more, which I never cared much for despite being one of the central pillars of SAO's popularity)

While that IS fair, I also thought that the dynamic of the girls with Kirito was unironically the best and most interesting part of SAO, so I can't say I share your opinion on that matter :p (Not necessarily their feelings, sans some exceptions like Sugu, but more of how they handled the issues that presented themselves together) Also, the Gameverse DID kinda spin that around and handled it a lot better than Canon too because almost every time a new girl showed up not only was Asuna present, but also most of the not-Harem so it made it much better, and it also made KiriSuna feel a lot more organic imo.

Small correction there, the only reason Kirito wanted Sinon to 'clarify' was because of the camera that saw them in the cave while he was comforting her from her PTSD attack, the angle combined with the lack of clear audio would make anyone misunderstand what was happening so he wanted her to be clear about it, nothing else regarding 'feelings' XD

And wel, yeah, the issue with Fujino's is that it's NOT 'true' Reverse NTR at all XP It adds some flavor to the game and makes it more interesting but it's still covered in failure and lacks what actual reverse NTR should be like: It's happening within a cliche NTR setting, so on top of Kirito being terrible at sex and having no stamina which already dampens the whole thing, Asuna is already being NTR to hell and back herself from waaaaay before this started so the entire point of Reverse NTR, much like standard NTR, is completely lost :3 Second, for Sugu, the only semi-realistic one in this setting, it only started AFTER she was completely corrupted and not-NTR-ed by a random NTR Chad and then freed herself, which again completely ruins the point of Reverse NTR by default. Liz is just a bad excuse to hammer how much better at fucking girls Inoda is, and Sinon is basically just using him as a toy she likes, there is no real relationship or anything that is getting twistead or tainted because this Sinon has nothing to do with the original character at all.

So yeah, Fujino's 'twists' may make this game more interesting, but aren't really Reverse NTR at all, just like how any of the non-Asuna girls getting fucked by randoms isn't actually NTR either despite so many people who make NTR wanting to think otherwise.

yes, but there's more to it... kirigoat has already completed 90% of the preparations for his ultimate harem. just wait for the endgame and the biggest twist when kirigoat finally reveals he got bored with parodysuna and wanted to spice his life up a bit, since he knew or should i say deliberately let parodysuna get taken by pignoda so he could finally be with his harem 4ever

That would be the peakest plot-twists that we're never gonna get in a game like this XD

Also, I never get tired of that fanart illustrating one of the first scenes that really hammer why the Gameverse AU is so much better than Canon SAO :p

Well, if we look at the plot globally, Inoda is helped because the Administrator needs "anxiety" to accumulate power, and the council wants to destabilize Kirito's mental state in order to get the "SEED" out of him. Inoda just happened to be a good reason to influence Kirito. But in my opinion, helping Inoda and do Kirito more stupidity, at the same, is somehow too much.

This seems like a very lazy spelling. Fujino should have chosen one thing to make the game seem more action-packed. Or Inode's help or Kirito's stupidity. And now the interaction of the characters looks so unbalanced that it's even funny. Inoda vs. Kirito. Knife vs. potato.

Well, Inoda's obsession can be explained by the fact that Kirito and Asuna are famous after saving many people from Aincrad. Inoda just wanted to possess what the hero of Aincrad possesses. You can also explain Sugo's obsession. He's rich, young, and could afford almost any girl, but for some reason he wants Asuna. Banal envy.
But let's be real here, Inoda is definitely not the right person to help for destabilize Kirito's "mental state" or rise his "anxiety".
Inoda already raped 2 girls and blackmailed Asuna's mother Kyoko. If only one of them revealed his rapes or blackmails, he would be fucked up in real world.
And one can't be sure that Inoda won't rape any other girl. Cuz he already raped 2 girls and they didn't do anything about rapes, and he might try to rape any other girl any other time.
Either administrator is a brainless stupid, or she deliberately helping Inoda creates another huge plot hole.
Then again, this game has full of inconsistencies and plot holes so... Whatever.

Well, Asuna doesn't count as rape, only Liz.
well, and I think the fact that your girlfriend was raped or she cheated on you with a fat jerk who is despised by society and so on, may well destabilize Kirito's "mental state"
especially since Kirito's character is described here (although he is more of a just a skin of original character with whom you can do whatever you want and he just goes with the flow) he can probably commit suicide
with my prejudice towards Slutsuna, I completely forgot that Inoda raped her many times when she was unconscious

Very confused, but is this June going to be the end of the game? As in, is he completing the game? I thought he's working on it until the end of the year?

in June the arc with the hotel will end, after that the game will be divided into 3 stages (probably 3 paths to different endings), the game itself will be released according to the author by the end of the year probably

Pretty much, reminder, Asuna practically had a mental breakdown seeing "Kirito cheating on him" in the hotel and only recovered both because she's the ultimate hypocrite slut and because it was in VR, the entire point of Suguha corrupting him to want her is specifically so when she finally breaks out the news to him about Asuna's betrayal he won't end up like a broken shell of a man (Which is, yeah, ultimately just a Fujino excuse for the plot to not have ended the second Suguha caught Inoda and Asuna getting handsy in front of her cameras, but still ironically made her end up coming off as the single girl that still genuinely loves and cares for Kazuto more than just stealing him, as she could have just told the truth and then pick up the pieces of her Onii-chan's broken psyque for herself if she really wanted to, but she chose to be the better person in her own twisted way, LOL).

Anyway, if Suguha tells Kirito the truth, he will fall apart and if he finds out by himself, he will fall apart anyway, so nothing changes
