He's employed? Why doesn’t he work on SAO full-time? I thought it made plenty of money, no?
Every single update gets leaked like 1 hour after release, if not faster.
He may get a nice side-income this way, but it won't be enough to live just from it.
I think he also needs a work visa to stay in Japan. He can't tell them he's making porn for a living, can he?

Imagine he would tell that he make a porn. And they would ask: "ok sir! what kind of porn?" [sends them link to F95zone thread...] ... ... ...
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
...and they play his game silently also...
...he would NTR his life with his own game... not good

To explain this... in my region there is no such a thing like Porn Game programmer. You could be Computer Programmer, Art Designer... and so on. Self-employed but you would still have to pay all legal taxes. So, i guess yeah, that's would be the reasons. This would be difficult if i would be in his shoes.

A lot has been said, or should i say "speculated" about his earnings from this game, but the real numbers is anyone guess.
Seems that Fujino came public once saying he don't make to much money, but didn't open how many subscribers he does have on cien or patreon.
Cien alone he does have 43k+ followers that dosen't mean paying subscribers, yet is a large fan base, patreon he never opened the numbers but judging only by the messages his profile show that sits around 300 and mind you only paying patreons can message him, but this number is not a solid source either because he does have over 17k likes in his posts.
Looking these numbers in both sites, i guess he's making anywhere between 3 and 5k USD a month, but again it's just a guess based only in these numbers and his past and present behavior, he always tried to keep monthly updates because Cien fans need to pay month by month, and now he is clearly stretching/stalling the pace of the game for whatever reason or just to "milk" the fans a litlle longer, but this is nothing new many crowdfund creators do that in the end of theirs projects since everyone is eager to see the end, the fans will stick arround paying.
I believe he want to close at the 3 years mark and this will be in march 2026, so we have at minimum 5 to 6 more months until he finish it.

He is most likely in Japan on a work visa. So he must work a job to stay in the country. Also we don't know how much many he gets from making games. But that money is unstable and varies every month. Not many people would want to do something with an unstable income as their sole income.
If it's a work visa, then it makes sense. Assuming he makes three times his normal job income from Patreon, I wouldn't call that unstable imo. To be honest, with the way Patreon for the games usually goes, even if he'd almost completely stopped working on the game and only posted mini-updates every three months, he'd still have at least two years before supporters would actually start to dwindle significantly. Just look at Cloud Medown, Lilith Throne, and plenty of other games that basically release five minutes of content every few months, and still making good money

I was judging by the amount of engagement his Patreon posts get, and it's a lot. Compared to the engagement of some developers who make around $5K a month, his is about triple-and that's without counting Ci-en

Fujino hides how much supporters and how much money he gets. It is not possible to guess but no matter how much money he gets from his crowdfunding sources, it is very unstable. People start and end their Patreon memberships anytime for any reason. Fujino has done a good job of keeping people invested month to month by releasing something every month. He even announces if he can't release a month so people can not support him that month if they want.

If Fujino changes to 2-3 months development cycles a lot of people won't mind. Some Patreon supporters want him to do that. But some will leave. Also Fujino was a relatively unknown developer before this SAO game. He got a lot of new supporters with this game. It is not hard to assume once this game ends, some of his supporters will be gone too. Maybe you can handle the stress from not knowing how much money I will get each month but I know I would not want my only income to be depend on the mood of people every month. That would be extra stress on top of dealing with his supporters already.

Here is something interesting. I know of a Patreon game developer who said if the monthly money he gets reaches a certain amount, he will quit his job and do game development full time. He reached that goal but he says a lot of people might have only paid for a month just to reach the goal for that month so he will wait a while before quiting his. Sure enough, the next month his money did go back down under his goal. Don't know if he actually is doing game development full time now but it just shows how unstable crowdfunding is.

I agree, his Patreon income definitely won't be low.
Should be at minimum high 4-digit, quite possibly above, judging by number of likes on his posts etc.
But Patreon isn't secure income, for obvious reasons.
Plus, one can expect somewhere between 30-50% of that to get lost in fees, currency conversions, taxes etc.

Also, Fujino can't go back to China, where you can get jailed for making something NSFW even if it was in the past.
And JP probably won't let him stay permanently until he's lived long enough in the country, which he can probably only do on a work visa for now, which his patreon/ci-en income most likely won't count towards, even if the income as such is high enough.

Anyway, I doubt his income is low, but I also doubt he's dragging out the game just for that.
I suspect it's more like a mix of being tired of SAO, less time and energy due to work/IRL, and trying to cover as many fan wishes as possible before it ends (plus, he presumably needs some time to prepare the next game for a seamless transition).

-----------

Anyway, to be back on topic, from what I've seen of the last releases I think I'll wait for the November release or even the final release before playing again.
It's a little demotivating to have to start a new save (or use someone else's save) every small update.

I know I'm prolly a minority, but with Chad-Kirito being a thing, I kinda wish the game would go a little further on as we now have a means to see the game go full circle. Kirito loses Asuna, then the Chad awakens and we start seeing things from her perspective instead(as we did in this update), seeing her lose more points in him as the other girls start moving in on Kirito, only for the Chad to steal her from Inoda. I don't really view the Chad personality as the same since Kirito seems to have memory issues, so it's basically a double layered NTR story.

N(TR)ception
meh, prolly a dumb idea.
Actually this could an interesting idea.

The former part of the game is sort of Kirito's POV (again, sort of), that is, Kirito got NTRed.

If the latter part of the game can switch to Asuna's POV (as now it's basically vanilla love between her and Inoda), it could offer a fresh feeling if now the focus changes to Asuna got NTRed.

I remember that some time ago, Fujino conducted a survey asking if he made another game after finishing SAO, he would like to know what else his community would like him to make. And I just realized that another series with an inseparable couple is Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl. I can't imagine Mai Sakurajima doing NTR... but what if she did?

In this update. How many cgs are? Because in my recollection room is only 2 of that.
5

2 Asuna, 1 Liz, and 1 Alice scene but that one have two variations so it like 2 Alice scenes.

Because Fujino didn't have time to make another scene so he made them not have sex in cloths store.

Seems like Fujino made bug report post on Patreon. For fans to report bugs... However, how can you post pictures there in comments? I don't see any option for that.
