Actually, reverse ntr can definitely work, and it’s not limited to just a woman cucking another woman by taking her man. It’s built on the same feelings of loss and jealousy as classic ntr, the roles are simply reversed. The point isn’t that women "easily share a man," but that for the character (male or female) who has real feelings, the betrayal still hurts just as much.Sugu plot was or is a waste of time in this story, if the reverse NTR did happen the entire plot would collapse right there, because the way Kirito was writen in the story he having a affair with Sugu is out of his passive character.
Fot the NTR to work you can't have reverse NTR in the same plot, because this will became a open relationship with no moral implications which is the cornerstone for any good NTR story.
Reverse NTR is just a woman doing the NTR and cucking another woman, i saw some doujinshi with this theme but usually is a subgenre fo Family NTR like a mother cucking her daughter with her boyfriend/husband and in 9 out 10 times they endup sharing the guy and impregnated by him.
Women have no problems in sharing the same guy as long he keep them happy, let's put this way how many harems existed that we know of, where you had a single woman with several guys?
That's why reverse NTR dosen't work it will most likely then not endup in a Harem
One guy several women = Harem
One woman several guys = Gangrape/bang
It doesn’t have to end up in a harem, either, because in reverse NTR the focus is often on one heroine losing intimacy and her sense of "ownership." In that sense, reverse ntr can be just as effective as traditional ntr, it’s just a lot less common and usually underexplored in doujinshi or hentai.
Also, the main heroine doesn’t necessarily have to know that her boyfriend or husband is being taken, and the guy doesn’t have to truly love the one he’s involved with. There can be many variations and different circumstances for why it happens. Both normal and reverse ntr can even coexist in the same story or game and work really well together.
If we take SAO as an example, Asuna was clearly hurt when she saw Kirito with Leafa, so in this case ntr works. On the other hand, if we look at a situation where someone takes Sugu away from Kirito, it doesn’t work as well. Yes, she seduces him, gives him a handjob and paizuri, but in the end he still loves Asuna. He has no romantic feelings for her.
