Well i see 2 posibilities: a fake decoy that is sleeping so Kirito sees her (and gives Asuna and Inoda some extra free time) or there is some danger from it, like it becomes the "villain" they have to defeat. Like the AI clone appears and Kirito quickly sees through it and they defeat it so he gets to be a "hero" again.
Wether that is because of the godess or a game (FOG) thing i have no idea.
Honestly i am more inclined to agree with you in that i don't see much use of it.
there are so many patches and so many links I really do not know what is the latest patch link and game link

HE FORGETS IT ALL AFTER WAKING UP XD Is just that his subconscious is gonna think positively of Inoda because of it, probablyI liked the scene as a scene, but it was once again so fucking forced. Just at the moment he had some doubts for once in a very long time, here we go: he has a weird dream that forces him to believe he should be thankful to Inoda. Jeez, it couldn't be more obvious than this. And I don't even want to start about how this didn't affect him one bit.
That's exactly the kind of bullshit that my mind refuses to enjoy.
Not sure if you're still having this problem, but when I encountered it, I had to redo my game from the newest update and it seemed to work.

I've lost pretty much every desire I had for Asuna and Inoda scenes. Them and their part in the story just feels completely empty nowadays. Stocks fully into Liz and the sister going forward!

I think this most likely is psychological rather then Inoda having some special capacity.
This might explain how he manages to not find out Asuna's cheating in the end.

LMAO, bud, there is nothing 'psychological', it has already been explained several times by Administrator that this is all her doing, she's the one that's giving Inoda convenient knowledge and also erasing all the 'suspicion' of Kirito every night, while also making him unable to recall what he sees in the Blog (Fujino changed it back to the real world for convenience but for the longest time it was just part of the Rec. Room too).
Granted, now that I think of it, is hella hilarious how all these key points to the plot that explain a lot of what's going on can be COMPLETELY missed in an entire playthrough just by not going to the left building and talking with Administrator every single night, it's completely optional, you can leave the room every time without having talked to her despite how much she explains and gives context/teasers regarding the plot and what's about to happen XP
