Exactly. Or explain everything - for example, Asuna's motivation, why Kirito is so blind, and what kind of competition the author is talking about between Inoda and Kirito. Or keep quiet and leave everything to the player's imagination.

That's a pretty good explanation. But the problem is that Asuna initially devoted much more time to Inoda, than Kirito (well, at least that's how I see it), and as if there was no rivalry. And in the end, even after the "memory change", Fujino tells us that Asuna still loves Kirito, and now he's trying to explain to us that all this was necessary for Inoda to overtake Kirito in Asuna's heart (Although for NTR it's not necessary at all - the main thing is betrayal and a sense of loss, not who the cheater loves more).
