10k supporters who pay monthly - especially the highest tier for $23 in order to play the most recent updates - are the much bigger target audience from a financial point of view than steam sales. Especially since steam contains a lot of dumpster pricing sales.I dont think NLT really cares about that one fetish. as he has over 1 million sales on steam, which is likely now the main target for his games. Patreon sitting at 10k supporters is a bonus
For instance, people in russia pay 3,84€ for the game. 1,92€ in a sale. Only a few first world countries have the price higher than 10€. But even there sales go as low as 5€. Also Steam takes a 30% comission per sale, Patreon takes 5%.
Over 1.000.000€ that alone would make a difference of 250.000€ - a quarter million - more in revenue on Patreon. Minus some small processing fees, but still a significant difference.
