Why can't this game be more like Civilisation XXX? Like why do we even need to connect things? There is really no step by step tutorial on the more advance stuff. Like getting acid. Why not just have certain items give certain things? And is there anyway to cheat this game?

Ya how the fuck do we get acid? Is is purely at the whim of the RNG world generation?

I have found something interesting regarding the pressure in the assemblies created. Pressure at 40-60 have nearly no fluid leak if at all, my guess would be that the generators are producing just as fast as fuel is inserted.

Welp, I said I'll do it and I did so. Here's a trying-to-be-brief tutorial on your first steps in the Hive.
After you finish the in-game tutorial, the first thing you want is a Biomass Tree. Find a Biomass Node on the ground and order the planting. Once it's built, connect it to the pump you placed next to your Heart. That's just for now, we just need a steady source of Biomass to jump-start the system.
After that, we need the generators and Liquid Storage. The Activae Generator should be placed close to the Biomass Tree so that drones can easily resupply it, the Liquid Storage bin should be placed in the central area where you want this system as it'll need to connect to everything that needs fuel, and the Vitae Generator can be placed fucking anywhere who cares.
Connect the Heart Pump to the Activae Generator. Connect the Activae Generator to the Vitae Generator. Connect the Vitae Generator to the Liquid Storage. Set the Liquid Storage to store Vitae, and connect its Filtered Output back to the Activae Generator and a normal Output to the Biomass Tree, disconnecting the Heart Pump as we don't need it anymore. For reference, consult the image below. Open it in a new tab for fullscreen.
Best tutorial yet Copy.PNG
Liquid Storages basically function like inverse Membranes with ten times the capacity. With Membranes, you set a type of fluid and that type will be filtered out and sent down the Filtered Output, while everything else is dumped out the standard output. While the main reason I use Liquid Storages is for their surge capacity making it VERY difficult to clog them with Activae, it's also important to note that Pressure is Not Transmitted Through Filtered Outputs. If you set the Liquid Storage to store Activae and swapped the outputs, the system may just stop working to spite you, so be careful.
Anyways, now that we have a basic setup, the first production building you want is a Resin Plant. Up until this point, you've needed to repeatedly fuck Workers for the resin to build EVERYTHING you see before you, and there are more valuable uses of your time and dicking. Build the Resin Plant with both previous conditions (easy-to-access and near the Biomass Tree) and connect it to the Liquid Storage via the Standard Output.
The end results of this picture? +2 Activae per tick, -1 Vitae per tick, +1 Resin per tick, remembering that light is costing -1 Vitae per tick. You can improve this ratio by building up to two additional Vitae Generators, connecting their input to the Activae and output to the Storage, each adding -1 Activae, +3 Vitae to the equation. You may also Integrate a Human into the Vitae Generator to add the same values (-1 Activae, +3 Vitae) but if you haven't fixed the images as I noted in my last post, then the game says fuck you eat this placeholder texture.
Here's a more detailed picture to help visualize what's happening. Also look carefully for instructions on getting that Xenomale skin I literally made just to spite that guy who asked for it.

I personally recommend integrating a Human or building only one extra Vitae Generator. You can use the remaining +1 Activae for the Acid Generator. I didn't bring a picture but it's simple to understand, Acid Generators need both 1 Activae and 1 Vitae to function, produce Acid which is treated like any other liquid, and leaks all three into its output. To start, build the Acid Generator and connect it to a Vitae Generator. Remember, Vitae Generators leak Activae into their output pipe, though your Acid Generator will quickly clog itself as Vitae, Activae, and Acid all take up its 60 fluid capacity. To fix this, build a second Liquid Storage and set it to store Acid. Connect the Acid Generator into the second Storage, connect a Filtered Output into the Activae Generator, and DO NOT CONNECT THE STANDARD OUTPUT TO ANYTHING. Drones will happily take Acid directly from the Liquid Storage, and if that stuff leaks into a structure without an output pipe, clogs will happen and quickly render the building useless.
One final note, and it's the Surface. Most projects on the surface take stupid amounts of Biomass, and when a big one goes every single fucking drone in the Hive will drop everything to run back and forth between the closest Biomass Tree and the Heart to supply your war machine, leaving your domestic projects to suffer. If the worst happens, reconnect a Tree to the Heart's Pump to ensure it has the Vitae it needs to grow more biomass, and join me in cursing the code that doesn't say 'If someone is already picking this tree, find the next one and pick THAT.'
There! Now that you have a foundation to build upon, you can begin to experiment with the more advanced structures, until you hit the brick wall of the Neurotissue Generator or the inevitable heat death of the AI where it stops checking if you have resources for projects and just assumes you don't have them, leaving you unable to do anything but breed more Workers. Fun game, I like it.

It's been established there will be a better tutorial in the future, this thread is for early birds who wanted to figure things out themselves. There would be almost no point in cheating a tech demo.

Any leak no matter how small will eventually break your lights and objects without an output

This user posted this schematic. Its the best I have seen so far.
Ah ya, that, so I tried making a production line, and there is without a doubt a bug. I keep getting vitae warnings/not giving vitae. Even though I set it up just fine but if i added something that messed something up and removed it, I would still get the warnings. Unless I rebuilt it from scratch it wouldn't work again.

So since drones are hatched without the need for a host, will the only interactions with Humans be trading or fighting, or will we capture them? Will facehuggers be added to use captured Humans to spawn special breeds of Xenomorph or will we breed them the old-fashioned way?

God knows. We're able to preach to the humans, and trade with them, so clearly the aliens are capable of communicating. We can also attract humans to us rather than force being the only option.

At some point this game stopped being 'porn with base building' and became differential calculus.

Its more inline with games like Factorio in that sense. The managing of resources in that sense can still be fun, not everyone wants their resources to just be magically teleported to a bottomless bag of holding for convenient use.
