wendy's implement AI and fine tune it to pay less employees, uberpie uses AI to be lazy with the art and pocket the money.
they are not the same.

Nope, he's using AI as just another tool to enhance and complement his art, making it higher quality and producing more content. But to do that, you need at least some experience in digital art, an understanding of the industry, or just basic critical thinking—or at the very least, enough exposure to purely AI-generated prompts to tell the difference. But hey, you've already been fed your 'all-important' opinion by the anti-AI crowd, so why bother thinking for yourself or digging into the actual issue, right?
It's the same as when there were clowns fighting against 3D references, and before that, photobashing, and before that (you won't believe it)—digital art itself, claiming it wasn't 'real art' unless it was on paper. The same old complaints from truly lazy people, repeating other people’s mantras about laziness and 'easy money'—every time, without fail. Some people either have short memories or are just highly suggestible, lol.
At some point I thought that using AI for art would shorten the update interval, but oh well, the opposite happened.

Actually, amazon was literally found guilty in court of a price fixing conspiracy which they used to jack up the prices of digital books to be higher than the price of paper books.
They received a slap on the wrist fine.

It shortened it so much they decided to remake the whole game.
If Season 1 isn't spectacular when it comes out then I think this will probably end the game. I'm guessing as part of the planned Steam release they need to move all the artwork to one style which is why they are seemingly going back over the first part of the game and doing artwork to the extent that they are. There may also be issues with Steam of just spamming out AI art without doing more to tailor it.
It also looks like they are adding in new scenes and plot to smooth it all through and, I imagine, try and keep the current base engaged somewhat through what is otherwise looking like years of delay to eventually catch to where they currently are. If the current subscribers aren't happy with the finished product this could end badly.

Seeing how what they are working on is a revamp the first fifth of the entire story (whatever they are calling "Season 1") to submit to Valve for Steam consideration... something they said months ago, after they got booted from Patreon this past spring... your "calling it" is more Captain Obvious than Nostradamus.
Even with them saying they are adding some new content to the revamp. There will some new UI implemented (based upon the screenshots), redoing of previous art using Uberpie's AI modeling, and some added content. But we'll see what is "new" in terms of content.
I think there was a glitch in one of the old versions of the game that those two CGs weren't viewable in the gallery, even though players saw them during game play.
Edit: yes, from 2 years ago. It was either v0.82.4 or v0.85.1 that had that glitch. It was fixed for v0.89.8, for sure.

No, but really - Why would you wait?
First, there is currently no such thing as "Season 1." This was a new invention by Uberpie for Taffy Tales with the release of v0.95.7, which he labeled as "Season 5" and then labeled v0.89.8 as "Seasons 1-4."
Second, we don't know what "Season 1" even entails. We know it begins on "Day 1" of game time - but we don't know what they are selecting for the content of "Season 1" or what they are adding.
Third, it could still be many months before they have something ready to submit to Valve for consideration on Steam. And they've yet to create a public entity on Steam, nor have they bothered to pre-list Taffy Tales on Steam. So, there's that as well.
