How is kidnapping Mary and drugging the sister not a love interest targeted by the cabal? Or by cabal do you mean specifically the overarching plot about the conspiracy going on? Because I'm just talking about the game in general.

Mary was never kidnapped. She went to the gym to work out (which was in her dialogue when she was the FMC in one of the portions of the game and in the note she left on the fridge):
'Haven't heard back from Gerda so went to the Gym a bit earlier today!'

Yes, Tiffany was drunk and under the influence of a drug at the bar the one night that the MC rescues her before things got bad.

As I said in my reply to you that those two scenes (Mary at the Gym and Tiffany at the Bar) lend toward the possibility of NTR which are less than 15 minutes of playtime in a game that spans multiples of tens of hours of playtime (if people don't skip dialogue).

The Cabal is the overarching plot and they aren't explicitly targeting any of the MCs love interests. Walter is part of that overarching plot. Darnell and the new thug are low level players in it. The stuff against Mary and Tiffany appear as just antagonist scenes that are to create friction between the MC and Darnell - not any part of the actual plot of the game (the cabal, the pills, etc).

Mary goes to the gym, she can't leave because it'll give the jig up about the remote control. I don't want to argue about what kidnapping is, you know the scene I mean and that the MC has to come rescue her sharpish before the bad guy gets his way like you said. Can't remember all the details around Tiffany but I'm pretty sure it's implied she's been drugged with the intention of them fucking her. Again, MC to the rescue.

I'm trying not to get into an argument at crossed purposes, so what I'm saying is that these are important scenes imo in that they convey the threat of the bad guys and develop the narrative of that impending issue. I'm NOT saying I think these are NTR, I'm just saying these are among the scenes that people have been complaining about. Whether they're right or wrong that this is NTR is kind of irrelevant, but these have been part of the controversy and these are some of the people this move is supposed to appease.

What I'm getting at is...I don't think that can be avoided unless the game takes a huge change in direction. Things like Tiffany in the club is going to continue, but things like Tiffany in the club is going to result in people repeating "Ugh, I thought this game had no NTR! That was way too close!". That's what I took you to mean by "NTR dangling" and that's why I'm saying it's going to be in the game unless major things change.

When I say LIs have been targeted, I mean Mary and Tiffany have been targeted in the ways you've listed. No actual NTR has happened in my view, but that's what's stirred up all the fuss and I don't see it going away. I don't think splitting the game in two is going to do anything to resolve the complaints.

Well, you renamed her from Mary ... If you searched "Where's Mary!?" in the thread - you'd find several posts of the same answer. Also, the game tells you where to look for the answer --- in the dialogue just before the task activated. #24,255

He has been teasing a few of these AI images over the last few months one was decent ngl but this last one was bad... as far as caring well I was excited about the game at one point but now I am just waiting to see if it train wrecks honestly. Don't think he should have split the game in two, didn't like the revamp of the beginning of the game and the damn thing has been buggy for a long time. As far as crying goes LOL bro not even close. Then you've done something wrong or haven't done everything you need to. Is there anything else on your list of things to do besides that? Another option is to go to a previous save and make sure you go right away the next night after getting the jar.

i got no issue with ai art as long it improves slightly, making h-games/porn games with unique art is time consuming.

its why thousands of games just use illusion games or daz 3d models for the art
have a look at the latest updates page here on f95, majority of games new/old that get updates either using honey select/koikatsu or daz3d stuff

HowTo: regedit.exe, branch HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\UberPie\TaffyTales.
Find the needed key named
"wholeGameStateversion (older version)_h(some digits)"
and rename it to
"wholeGameStateversion 0.89.8b" (or whatever).

Tested it on version 0.89.8b with save data from 0.68.2a.

Saves time from skipping through 95% of content to find out that your favorite characters only got 5-10 minutes of new content between them in the last year and a half.

Possibly. However, you may be missing more than you think you are - 68.2 was the old version of the game before the new faux sandbox mode was introduced in 85.1 along with storyline changes and reconfiguring of a few of the quest routes. You might think it is working fine, only to find that there are problems in replay or other situations/variables down the line. That's why there wasn't a preloaded save in 85.1 - because of those changes weren't found fully compatible form v0.68.1 to v0.85.1 by the developer, themselves. Otherwise there is usually a preloaded save available that starts at the beginning of new content (like there was for 89.8).

Also, with the game being split into two separate versions/games in the next release (at least that is how it is represented by Uberpie) - it may not be the solution you are looking for.

First of, you cannot brick a Windows installation by changing values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE branch.

Second, I think the location of the game's save data is stated by the author himself. The point was not that it's there, but that it is compatible and easily transferable.

You are basically saying not to mess with anything and play as intended. I'm saying - fine, but here's another option. It worked for me and saved me time, IMO it will just as well work for you if the need arises.


An aside about storyline and reconfiguration changes:
A cursory glance at save data from 0.68.2a and from 0.89.8b does NOT reveal major changes. Actually, it seems there are no changes in data structure at all. That in itself very strongly implies compatibility, even if some actual restructuring of quests took place.

And IF there are changes, they all must be trivial just by virtue of the game being basically linear. It's just a bunch of scenes and the flags for their availability, and some flags for major decisions. No need to overcomplicate simple matters. The reason why the author didn't provide a compatibility option is a mystery, but it's definitely not because it's difficult.

I didn't say as such. To expand on what I did say: once a person reaches a certain level of cock-suredness without the applicable knowledge and experience - they may decide they can do other things in their Windows Registry because "it's not difficult" and fuck things up by trying other suggestions they find on the internet (or their own tinkering).

I guess I wasn't clear. People should not fuck around in their Registry simply on the advice of others; it opens a Pandora's Box - hence the reason for the warning from Microsoft (and others).

A developer and their coder should know more than someone who takes a cursory glance at the player preferences saved in a Windows Registry about whether or not simply just changing the HKEY value(s) would work - otherwise they could have avoided the grief they got for weeks in Patreon and their Discord after the release of v0.85.1 for not providing a preloaded start point (particularly after that release being delayed for a few months). However, Uberpie has had knowledge issues in the past - but why take the chance?

So I've been saving updates and haven't played in awhile and I was planning on playing again when the next update comes out but I just read the the Counts FAQ and the update for march 31st and seen it said the next update will start the NTR route, but what I don't understand is, is the next update just going to focus on NTR or is it going to have a bit of both? If it's just NTR then ill start playing now instead of waiting.
