Yeah, Agust and his troops just crashed in. Doesn't even make sense. At least guarding the entrance of the base should be expected as well some close perimeter surveillance. Even more, they actually expected Agust and his goons to arrive at some point. They should've been prepared, tbh.
I get that due to the interference and the need to use the Bastard for transportation there was no chance for deep space surveillance. But close proximity surveillance and guarding the entrance should've been standard procedure. I mean, at least six of them were at the navy before which means they received military training. And if no guards then at least some surveillance cameras and sensors. So from that point of view the plot development doesn't make much sense in the way it played out.
Also, I would've expected them to have placed at least one orbital surveillance satellite. The Bastard should've had at least that much time to spare...
Better not think much more about it. The more you do the less sense it makes...
