This is the Steam variant.
There are also many old missing images and video from non-Steam v0.12.7 to Steam v0.12.9, we are trying to verify if Steam is different than non-Steam.

That's not at all what I/we mean. When you run it against our software to make "update only" and compress files, it shows that files are not the same and are missing. With an update only it shows what files are changed between versions, so between v0.12.7 and Steam v0.12.9 the whole releasee was changed and images/vidoes are different and the update only would be over 2GB when from v0.12.7 to v0.12.9 an update patch should only be a few KB's to MB's as the only thing changed/added was bugfix and translations.
If you even use something like Winmerge (with files not in RPA) it will show the same that they are not the same and things were massively changed.

Is the newest Season 1 for non-Steam? Steam has v0.12.9, that is also v0.12.6 which is older than v0.12.7 which is posted already here.

The only difference I can see is that the GOG version has the uncensor.rpa while the Steam version doesn't have it.
If you remove the steam.rpa and the censor.rpa from the steam version and add the fan patch you have the same version as the GOG one.

You can't see the underlying changes unless you extract the RPA's.
When we compare 12.7 to 12.9 it says 2GB plus has changed, wether that be the image/video were optimized or changed, or moved to new "folder", we don't know, but it says 2GB has been changed when we know that is not the case, only a few MB has changed. We are trying to verify no content has been changed inside of those RPA's after the Steam update and wanting to verify it with a non-Steam update to see.

I know that. All I'm saying is that the GOG 12.9 and its steam counterpart are the same when it comes to rpa files with content. So I very much doubt anything was removed, given that it wouldn't be necessary on that platform.
From what I can tell after doing an UNREN is that the folder structure of e.g. the images.rpa has changed a lot.
That's why your update patch isn't working.

They go by the "most updated" version, so Season 1 got an update today to v0.12.9, changelog.

Now that Steam is out, I am wondering what version to download.
I see there is a link to S1 v0.12.1, but the changelog also mentions newer versions for S1 for Steam.
1. I would like the bug fixes, but is there content removed in the latest S1 for Steam?
2. Will Perverteer release a non-Steam bugfixed version of S1?

I haven't checked yet, but I think the Uncensor Patch that was originally there has simply been removed from the Steam version. Just add it to the Steam version and everything will be fine (probably). It's the same as for the second season.

No content was removed from the Steam version (I checked). You need to delete the censor file from the game folder and install the lewd patch from there. And everything will work.
