The error seems to be caused by loading the ghost enemy. I launched 0.3.30.0, did the encounter, saved, then loaded my save on 0.3.30.4 and was able to progress.

i just got back into the game with the newest version, do achievements not give you bonuses anymore, or am i missing something?

If you play with the cheat mode on, you do not get gallery unlocks (although you can view the gallery with it) and you do not get the achievements even if you'd do the necessary things to trigger them.
I think because you can dominate, you can get humiliated see you can win because you can lose, you can lose because you can win, if I can only get humiliation then I was not humiliated because humiliating is an attack to dignity, if my only option to get sex it from losing and I want sex(or some form of erotica) it doesn't hurt my dignity as a player or a hero, if the point is to cause a humiliation from losing then you also have to be able to win(or to do your business without being humiliated), because then it is not really humiliation from losing it is humiliation for temptation, so to proper humiliated both the player and the "hero" these two types should be differentiated.
assuming that the reversal or dominance is not o be included, where in a sex battle where both the concept of winning and attaining sex scenes would be the fused attaining both objectives in a porn game(to win and to have erotism) doesn't it affected both the humiliation and the role playing?
And yeah it is a bit ridiculous when you have all stats to 9 and 15 strength defeat the demon lord and goodness of the mauntain but can't fight a mimic
That's also the reason game doesn't let you top characters that often. You play as a girly character that easily can get themselves violated in the butt or mouth by strong beasts and demons. If you add the option to just subdue and use everybody, this feeling won't be true anymore

Then what I am supposed to do after being able to beat everyone close the game and just stop? The fail and get humiliated or win, only works in one linear dimension, at the very least there should be humiliation from temptation where is the only one I can get because after you get good enough to not lose a battle, in the state of an experience player the game after a while ends, not the scenes but the thematic is completely destroyed, a grind to lose where I can't feel humiliation because I lost on purpose nor can't I feel the savory of winning, by implying the player can never be too strong cunning, stronger agile, resilient,smart or magic enough the characters just fade off from existence. They would become one dimension characters which they aren't because they are so full of life, have you ever intoxicated a beast master and watch the cat do her? Satisfied a centaur and got a bow? This is the epitome of life creativity and erotica I ever saw in a game, and how it is integrated in skills checks and the battle itself deserves the biggest reward I can give, it you don't allow it to the stronger monster you are taking the life out of then, as almost as killing them or depriving them from existing in such a wonderful setting and cast this game has
And the examples, are great but there is so much more that is why I love the game how you are there you have options and how so much can happen the surprise and anticipation of your choices, or even doing it when you know the end result from how much pleasure it gives you, being true art and to be the reason RPG and role playing erotica are enjoyable

I wouldn't call it the epitome. There are many porn games out there, and some did the interactive and immersive part better. There are games where you can grow dick and boobs and change the scenes you see entirely, or you get tickled to the point of pass out until you pass the check to get out of the grip.
ToA's particularly strong point is it has encounters written more thoroughly than average visual novel would hope. Both in the amount of text and amount of unique situations (tags). It also has a lot of nice pictures accompanying the story, though it probably could have more of them by this point. It also is about futas, which is not uncommon nowadays, but less explored than other genres.
You think that winning should mean topping the enemy, but this game is for trap and futa lovers, meaning most of the audience wouldn't even want that. Hiro has a certain character - naive, pure, a bit feminine. Giving him the opportunity to act masculine will ruin that for the majority of the audience.
Though right now Majalis are planning the new main character, and this character named Evoker is pretty lewd from the start and has sex basically to survive, using semen instead of food. I don't know how can you make a whole new character work for a game that has 50+ characters written from Hiro's POV already... But this new mode should probably have more sex you force on people, instead of them forcing it on you.
Right now winning in the battles rewards you with experience, and you need all the experience you can aquire to beat the final boss. That is motivating enough, and it gives you the sweet feeling of hard making a hard choice between two goods — experience for winning that you want to make your life easier, or giving in and seeing Hiro get wrecked in various ways. It makes you ponder what characters you like more (right now at least) so you only let them use you.
I agree that there are things to work on mechanically. The game has a whole lot of sex perks and Purity/Dignity count — that barely matter outside of scarce encounters. They almost never give you the unique content, for example only times blowjob skill meant something are satisfying two harpies once and giving better service to Brings in a cottage. If you could, like, give heavenly blowjobs to people and see them melt and lose their shit, that would be cool. And if you could pound some character, but only if you you had Dignity rank 7+, for example, and taking that action would reward you with, idk, a long scene and a ticket to some cool small unique thematic location? That could make you actually immersed into managing your dignity. Not the way it works right now, when you get small GO by DK for having 0 dignity, or you must marry Lupa with 0 dignity which can be done without it easily.

uhhh, there's no .exe file in the download for the latest version... am I missing something?

Kylira spawns in every world. But you could send them off from the map if you didn't have enough Charisma.
Recently Majalis mentioned on itch.io that you can open your save file, find in the end the "Kylira" line and paste there the ID of a node at which you need them to spawn.
Or you can just paste number 5 in the same line and aquire them as companion.
