Think you're confusing it with chest. The tent does not need rope.
And you need a tent to make a workstation.

I can't be bothered to spend hours in a walking simulator with hunger and thirst doing fetch quests, just to fap. Seems unreasonably tedious.

Not sure what you need for the tent, but I can build both the workstation and the tent without issue, the only resource you can't scavange from the camp and the immediate surrounding is the rope though
Too bad there weren't enough players like you to let us keep this feature. But as you probably noticed, we left it for Cat and Octa, and gave it a new direction in the dialogues with the new girls, where already Lee is trying to understand what they are trying to explain to him, not the other way around. And we have more cards up our sleeve, hopefully an opportunity to play them
If you just need stuff for fap, you can find it on our Discord-server, no need to download and install, play tutorials, get into the stories and characters of girls, events and mechanics to feel and live life on an island, cut off from civilization

Or rather the Quest location after befriending Octa and Cat again by giving them their favorite food?
In that case it's on the island with the dragon skeleton... just follow the shoreline south east (?) not sure about horizontal directions in this one but basically get past the skeleton in the direction of you original starting point without leaving the island with the dragon than haed for the mountains

Speaking of Octa, the location of the camp is far away enough from the water that an upgraded home like the first game with her included seems infeasible. Is the Camp on the tutorial island even the main location?
Octa joins MC towards the cat island and it would stand to reason that the majority of the game actually plays in that location rather than the initital island... storywise I would expect that island to be part of the ending.
IMNC Evangelion-01 The Camp Lee occupied first, that was originally Bunny's old camp, is temporary shelter for him. We have placed Octa at a distance from the camp to encourage you to explore this location. But we are working on a new location that has a lot of space to let you build a village there. A village for Cat, Octa, and new girls that are already in the game and planned. And of course for your daughters breeding offspring.
