Yeah game was a bit too easy, I ran through with all 3 girls back to back as well. Game needs a hard mode, there's not really any incentive to replay shit. The whole point of games like these is usually you can't really succeed in your first runs, but the unlocks you acquire increase your chance of success. To be able to just steamroll through first go eliminates that gameplay element.
It's really limited in build options for a lot of the girls too, there's a pretty clear "best build" for each of the girls, exception being the first girl a bit that could go shield stacking build I guess instead of attack stacking+aoe. Upgrades on boss clear are obvious too, +1 AP, then + 1 Deck draw is best pretty much always. I didn't really find the animations all that amazing personally either. They aren't very dynamic and don't have much "impact" with the fucking imo, and the anatomy is a bit off in some places.
The fights do drag, a big issue was how many enemies spam you with additional cards. Almost every turn you have to toss 1-3 cards. The frozen card that you use to get rid of the spam and then get MORE cards from using it...holy shit that needs to go. The alchemist girl gameplay needs to be sped up in general too, she took almost twice as long as the other girls to clear and her additional herb cards really make the enemy spamming cards at you far worse. Seems there wasn't much playtesting done, some of the issues seem like they should be pretty easy to catch. Overall, surprisingly mid, I've played better deck builder H games. It was okay for a time waster but I really would have liked some more variety and definitely more challenge. Only thing I can really hand them is the 3 girls have a pretty unique playstyle with the alchemy and pets on the 2nd and 3rd girl, but it really needs to be expanded on more.
Hopefully they plan some future updates and balance stuff. That and expand the upgrades on boss clears to allow different builds. The + AP, Deck Draw or Max HP shit is too straightforward. This is like the third H deck builder roguelike I've played trying to emulate Slay the Spire that feels like they didn't even bother to actually play Slay the Spire or similar good games to use as examples for what to do/what not to do. They didn't really seem to understand some of the core elements that make these games work. No depth of the original, and the porn doesn't make up for it.
Edit: This review was for 1.0, the game was like immediately updated to 1.2 and apparently has had balance updates. Without knowing how much has changed, not sure if my complaints about the challenge are still valid. Not sure I'll check out the new version yet either, maybe if there are some content upgrades. I've read some steam comments from the devs that make it sound like they plan future content (More elf characters), so I guess I'll check this game out in a few months or something.
