Unless things changed you shouldn't have to recompile and all that, just having the rpy file you edited in the game folder should work, as it prioritizes the external rpy/rpyc file instead.

Could've sworn I tried something like that somewhere else but having a duplicate gave an exception. The mod seems to work!

For anyone wanting to fix the code trap, just download Forest_map.rpy and move it to Tavern_of_Spear-0.32.1-pc\game.
V0.32a only! Other versions may behave in crashy and save corupty ways.

You can use "save target" or save the text manually as Forest_map.rpy. You know how browsers work?
