I don't know the facts of his circumstances so I don't call him anything. Maybe he was demotivated by the torches and pitchforks mob or maybe something happened with him. I don't know and I don't think you do either.

Or maybe misleading even his own mods about what he was actually doing for months finally caught up to him and couldn't deal with the pressure and accountability. That's the most reasonable explanation which you conveniently avoided to mention.

People with integrity admit their shortcomings and are transparent from day 1, like the Ethan game dev. That's what people expect from Irredeemable.

Funny how you don't see as many apologists defending DarkSilver or GumDrop or Lust&Passion even when they have been way more professional than Irredeemable. Almost as if this site had a massive bias in favor of this game, with people like you reversing cause (the dev lying) and effect (outrage) to avoid admitting they were wrong.

I won't blame people here for their original bias because Irredeemable did spend a lot of time here being positive in general, but now you are just clinging to the past while ignoring everything that has happened ever since. You can't expect people to react to that in a positive way, just look how other devs are treated even when they have proven to be more reliable than this one.

Ask yourself, why would random people on the internet hate Irredeemable to begin with? what's the logic behind that? the "hate got to him" theory makes no sense. People started disliking him the moment he started misleading people, period. The game ratings and the fact that the game ended up in the popular section are good indications of that too.

Centurion makes a valid point, certainly some are taking money whilst doing either very little or even nothing & their are plenty who could finish a game in a hundreth of the time they claim. But those who vanish could have had breakdowns, lost everything in fires, hurricanes, how about seriously ill, dying, dead, murdered, etc, etc. It's kind of hard to tell people you've been drowned at sea, or you're currently rotting in a shallow grave. The short answer is you don't know, so, just in case you're spitting on a dead persons reputation, how about we just leave it as unknown, who knows they may come back with a good reason, or we might find out it was really you all along. You, sir are confused. Your second word in your comment is "maybe". If you read my comments and think about them you would see that I rely on facts to draw conclusions, not "maybe". Relying on facts/refraining from wild and defamatory accusations based on "maybe" is quite different than defending anyone or anything.
