We're closing in!
It's been a busy few weeks and there are a lot of positives to share with you. The main activity since the last update has been to catch up on rendering, and do some fine-tuning to some of the script. Playtesting of the 'old' material is complete and we've found no issues. The coding work has begun in earnest, and there are already some great outputs like the transitions inbetween scenes and some free-roaming scenes.
There are just two full scenes to write and five full scenes to render now. What's great is that we are about to enter December, which means less of that pesky day job and more of that good old game dev. We're not going to promise a
wet Christmas delivery because we don't want to let anyone down in case life events get in the way.
As most of you will know, I work extremely hard on this game, as does Riam. However, we both have other commitments. Daggum has a demanding day job, Riam has many other game and coding projects on his plate. One of the reasons I brought Riam on was to speed up development, and boost quality. It's already proven to be an excellent decision. Now I want to take things one step further. Please welcome aboard JeffersonSound, the third musketeer! In addition to his expertise as a sound/music bod, Jeff will play a utility role in the team and so will take on a wide range of other important tasks. Riam and I are delighted he has chosen to join the team, so roll on faster and higher quality updates!
What's next? Hard work, finishing off the gaps mentioned above, then playtesting, and then we will share a release schedule. The only date that may shift somewhat in that schedule will be the Steam release date, because we need to submit Book One to be checked and (hopefully) approved. When the time comes, we will put out a request for all of you fans of the game to help spread the word ahead of Steam release. Getting wishlists and early downloads and reviews really matters.
Until then, we hope you are all well and have some plans to rest over the festive period.
Stay awesome,
Daggum
