I think the developer is often asked this question, I understand that he decided to go by the canon, a bad end - good end. But life rarely follows all the rules, reworking the end of the game is more logical than rewriting the beginning and introducing characters new (the classic sandbox rule of blurring the plot). But this is only my opinion, not claiming to be the truth. I hope the developer's resentment will pass and we will soon see a continuation.
