Development Update - 27-03-2021

It's been a while since the last update, Ep20 of WTHI has been so hectic I haven't really had time for anything else. I am still slowly trotting along though, slowly getting things done.

To speed things up I have been cutting a few images, I've got 98 done so far but I'm only like 20% through the script for episode 1...

Which means if I want to keep episode 1 as it was originally intended I still have another 500+ images to do...yeah, I'm not doing that I want to get the game out asap so I'm going to keep going as I have been until I find a good cut off point. Episode 1 was originally supposed to end on a bit of a cliff hanger and if I cut the episode down it's just going to randomly stop and I think it'll look weird. The other issue would be if I cut the episode short then there isn't really going to be any lewd content which would suck to. I'll probably cut the game within the next 2 scenes and then add a new finisher, either something with a mini cliff hanger or with something lewd.

Still hopeful for an April release

Development Update - 02/04/2021

Has quite a good couple days production wise, still not found a good cutting off point for episode 1 yet but there is plenty of time left for that. I've decided that I want to make the game a little more lewd, my original plan wasn't to make a game that was straight up "mc want's to fuck his family" or some shit like that, I wanted it to be Mc is repulsed by the idea ( or he's never thought about it ) and then eventually through time a natural love would form, but, due to having to cut the episodes down, that means that the new episode 1 would have no nudity or lewd scene's what so ever. Now don't get me wrong, by making it more lewd I don't mean you'll get a BJ from Mom in the first episode, but you will probably get some nudity. That being said, does a game even need that much nudity or lewdness in it's first release? still something I need to think about I guess.

Also, onto the bad news but also kinda good news...at least it's good news for me I guess. While working with Lucy today ( still not really settled on any character names, but it's the sister character ), I noticed I made a rather large character flaw in her design which sadly means I had to re-design her .But don't worry, I didn't go to far from the previous design so hopefully you'll hardly notice it. Only reason it's good news for me is I got to give her a better skin which matches the tone I'm trying to set

Still have hopes for an April release. I plan to stop working on the art during the 2nd week of April then get started on the coding/script, so if I do go past an April release it's because the script took way long than I'm expecting it to.

two small notions only:
-perhaps it would be good to make sister look a bit younger (face-wise), as she is supposed to be younger sis, and on those pictures, and girls portrait, she looks as a third sister (to mum and aunty).
-also it seems that moms head is a bit small/disproportional, compared to other girls, and her body.
it could be just that particular pose though, yet it looks a bit weird imo.

Hmm...now that you say it I kind of notice her head being a little on the small side...fuck!

Won't be hard to fix but and best off doing it now I guess while switching out Lucy.

Alright...I need to change this!

I've found the point where I want to cut the game off, I have ( probably ) another 50 or so renders to do and then that's where I'll be cutting it off. However...in my attempt to make the game a tad more lewd I decided to add in a couple of scene with a few characters changing, just so there isn't no nudity in the 1st release. Anyway, long story short...well, just look at the image below and you'll know what needs to be changed

I remember someone telling me to give the characters a tad more of a curve and I was like "Nah, it's fine, daz has a decent default curve" and you know what, it doesn't.

I'm not gonna give her a massive ass though, just a little curve, enough so that I don't have to go back through every image with her and change them

Development Update - 10/04/2021

Oooooof, massive fail on my part

So basically, things have been going great, I have like 2 more sections of work to do which will be like 20-30 images and then that's episode 1 finished and I can work on doing the coding...however, I have noticed a small hiccup.

Normally when I design my characters I do everything at once, including the genitalia, but for some reason this time I opted to not do the genitalia with the initial character design and now that I'm at the stage where we need to see his pepe, the one I wanted to use can't be used with this character due to a skin issue...

So my options are either give him the penis most devs use which is that massive over sized one, I can use the Daz3D default genitalia which with this characters skin looks like an 80yo guys penis or I can redesign the whole character and replace him throughout...yeah.

So, due to the fact I don't want to use the oversized penis and I want to have a normal penis, it looks like I'll need to redesign the character, which sounds like a task but it's really not, I'm happy with the characters design, just his skin needs a rework, the hard task will be adding the new character into the game, which will take me an extra 2-4 days depending on how quick I can work.

Has to be done though I guess. I was hoping to have a release for mid April but given the fact I have no clue how to use Ren'py I might need to push that back to early/mid May

Either way, I'll keep you updated and keep the previews coming

Don't get me wrong, not gonna go for some tiny pepe, most devs use Dicktator asset for the dick and it looks soooo unrealistic, I personally prefer XY penis and it looks a lot more realistic, can still give it some size and girth though.

Development Update - 14/04/2021

I've now finished adding in the new MC, or rather changing over his skin, it's really a good job I did it to be honest because it gave me a chance to go over everything once again because I found quite a few issues, mostly with lighting and some clipping so was able to fix that.

As for art I have 180 images done so far ( not rendered ) and I'm on to the last scene now which should be about another 20-30 images so almost ready. I've started rendering on my 2nd machine as well so once I've finished this last scene ( probably finish it tomorrow ) I can start putting the game together, code wise. Although, before I do that I do want to design a new banner for the game & also create a start menu...which I think might be the hardest thing I have to do xD

But yeah, things are going good as always, he's a little something.

Tiny little update here, no major news really, just wanted to let everyone know that it is looking like we'll be getting a May release, just because I can only render 10-15 images a day and there are like 200 images so it'll likely take me a couple weeks to get them all rendered, could probably do the math to get the actually amount of time but I'm far to lazy for math

That being said, I do plan on coding the game while they're rendering so that should speed things along a little.
