I actually thought that was a bad update too, the sex with her was extremely rushed and just felt out of place.
There was no scene, the main love interest from his the game showed up in this one as a potential love interest with flags. That made people upset because that meant she was willing too or could eventually cheat on the mc of the game she game from, which is the thing that got people upset.
I think you're kind of late, that's all everyone's been talking about all day and the dev already made a post saying that he's going to remove her as a love interest, but keep her in the game.
Kinda lame to me when a dev kisses F95 whiners' asses when they don't even pay him. If subs wanted it (I'm assuming he put it to a vote beforehand), stick with it.
Honestly, the post imo read less like it was the dev caving to criticism and more that he agreed that it that it's out of character for her and weakens the romance in her own game. He seemed more upset about the game being called a cashgrab.
I mean partically because they are actually canon to each other in this game. The Mc in this game is the mc in that games cousin and the game already references the events from the other game. They clearly take place in the same universe. So anything canon to this game is canon to that game
If i have it understood correctly, the complains were about Emi a LI/fuckable in this game and as such cheating on the MC in the other game, while in canon she is still together with that MC, so also cheating on the MC in this game...
The mere pixels are like real Lis for us as long as we are playing the game and connected to it.
Context is everything, as per your analogy, you don't see Frank being given the opportunity to date Jaye or pursue her as a LI.
As a matter of fact several of Cell's patrons, myself included had a chance to talk it over with him and he agreed he never even wanted to add Emi as a LI to begin with in the Cabin. He always had a specific arc in mind for her and it never included banging her cousin, and once that's done she will fuck off back to her own game with her own LI.
I dunno wtf is going on. I mean I've seen some "NTR" oversensitivity before but this takes the cake, because in effect you are cheating with yourself, since both MC's are you. With a lot of AVNs the NTR is optional, esp with multiple protags where you control LI actions as well. Don't want that to happen then make them not cheat, simple. This is not much different, as there's a choice to not open her path with Cabin MC if you don't want her to fuck him too, so I dunno what the problem is. I mean are there unknown future plans only they are privy to to simply have her fuck some other yet-unintroduced dude if MC here turns her down? I seriously doubt that.

I don't think it's a big deal but I feel like your point kind of misses some of the complaints. Imo the issue is less about the player being cucked and more that it's character assasination and underminds that games romance that she's willing to cheat. It's also not really an ntr game so bringing something that could potentially been seen as ntr suddenly like that could be scene as backlash. In actually ntr games you know what you're getting into it's the whole point, most of the games I've seen with optional ntr even have it more that the protagonist is competing with another guy and the ntr is usually what happens when the mc is either too slow to make a move or angers their love interest in some way. So it's not really comparable to what's going on here, and there really isn't a reason for Emi to want to cheat other than so the mc in this game can have a harem.
