VN Ren'Py The Call of Darkness [v2.8] [Ace Games]

While it's obviously a central theme. I'm curious how Lovecraftian we getting? Because it was pretty cool going from dating sim to Dead Space. Like I came for the love and romance and all that. But that whole rescue bit was some legit good stuff. Need more dark corridors fights and hiding from horrible things in the dark! I'm all for baby making, but I wouldn't mind moonlighting as Doomslayer as well.

As lovecraftian as the assets I can find, make, or steal borrow will allow. There is plenty of good unity stuff out there I have access to that I and others have already been importing and using. Also for anyone who is a nerd like me and versed in the lore, I draw very heavily on it.

Version 2.8b is up for testing for pc/linux/mac for the top two tiers on subscribestar for those interested. Hope to have 2.8 full finished and tested by the end of next week for subscribers.

Version 2.8 full is up containing the next 2 scenes for all subscribstar subs.
It also adds music for episode one (and all scenes in the last two updates) with a dozen or so new pieces throughout.
This release focuses on a long awaited rendezvous.

I also wanted to probe you guys here if you don't mind (pun intended). While the game seems to have a steady base of fans and good feedback (I was kinda stunned at how many downloads just my link to the last public build had), not many are of the paying variety unfortunately. I know a lot of that is on me, I've been too busy to formally advertise much in the last 6 months, and wanted to focus on finishing this episode (which should only take one more full update to round out the "Rescue Arc").

Music was the most requested thing on here and subscribestar, so it was added sooner than later, but so far hasn't generated much new interest, so I figured I'd ask here anything you guys were hoping to see or suggest?

I don't pretend to know all the answers but stability/consistency matters the most to me, and who knows how long that can take. That with a compelling hook can go a long way. Once someone finds a dev that deals with subjects/fetishes in a way they like, they'll likely keep tabs on whatever their working on for years, assuming they dont dip out after ver .1

No worries there, I would never redo anything major that wasn't finished entirely otherwise and probably not a complete overhaul anyway. It is possible when I finish this arc depending on how VAM 2 looks I may upgrade going forward, but that is a big if. I think it will be a bit before conversions, interface, and tools are there.

UAGC (linked in the spoilers) has a dedicated "Renpy update patch maker" It will automatically copy all files that are new or were modified, while keeping the folder structure. It would also unpack all rpa's of both old and new version if there are any.

Afterwards as long as the Python or Renpy version didn't change I'll delete the "Ren'py" folder cause that only has compiled files that will change every update, that way the update is universal.

But it's so good to see this has a harem tag, as they are getting more scarce to see with all the NTR, and female pro tag titles being released lately.

The planned harem tag is nice, but I think it's even better because it will likely be optional. So many harem games just force it on the player as if they are automatically interested in every LI. So far you aren't strong-armed in to being with anyone and I doubt that will change.

This is one of the best games i have played by a landslide. I think once you are able to update consistently and promo again you should gain morw support. I will continue to shout from the rooftops that evetyone needs to check out ypur game.
