I generally tend toward generally wholesome feels with dark undertones.
That's why this one has kind of clicked with me. The MC can be a little on the pervy side, but he isn't as bad as most of the horny teen in an adult body MCs you see everywhere now. It's really getting old. As much as I'd like to see more of this I think I'll wait until it's "entirely ready" to play again.

Hey Ace, just wanted to say I really enjoyed the update. Was curious did you improve Bobbi's model because she looked realy good here?

I expected short but that was kinda insultingly short
Well, I realize not everyone follows development, so I'll try not to take it personally, but I've been a little busy IRL. Family lost everything in a house fire at the end of Jan, including my pc and the 100+gigs of tools, models, etc related to the game. So while we were thankfully insured, the process of rebuilding, replacing, and managing all that (insurance is a pita) along with my "day job" kinda set me back. Honestly it was hit or miss for the first few months after if I could even continue the game because I had to recreate so many things from scratch. I'm confident I can now thankfully and was able to recover some online backups, but the process of replacing things is still ongoing as I continue developing for mostly myself and around 10 paying subscribers.

So yeah... sorry you feel insulted.

Definitely not all you. Since I started the game I had to replace my whole setup, and with my new monitor it is darker than I originally was seeing on my end depending on the scene. I am no longer limited in the actual light sources I can use now and only limited by the engine itself which I believe caps out at 6 sources (although an individual source can be as big and bright as as a sun or as small as a flashlight).
Yeah the lighting is definitely a problem, although it probably speaks more about the engine than your own work.

It's generally too dark, and the right click menu is way too bright.

Huh, that's weird. I know the game used to be very dark but Ace has vastly improved the lighting across the whole game. I have zero issues running it on android.

I'm running my monitor with decently high brightness, so yes I can fairly ascertain that some renders are too dark like the one above, every render on the bridge actually. It's still much better than honey select games, but the lighting is worse than daz games and the clipping during sex scenes can get glaring.

Yeah, I found there is a lot of variances between monitor/TV types (especially the new HDR crap that makes shows like Mandalorian dark asf) that can make the early game especially feel too dark, both because I was still getting used to VAM (and sometimes was hiding some low res backgrounds) and was more limited at that time in the type/number of light sources I could support. That is all less of a factor now that I have a higher end system, but even then it is a lot trickier it seems to establish good lighting with VAM than DAZ or Blender I feel (both of which I've dabbled in now).

That said, I've played so many of these games, and while it may just be me, I honestly prefer the feel/look of this system in general when it comes to the more lifelike feel you can get from the characters with the live eye contact and facial reactions during intimate vids and action scenes (the ejaculations leave something to be desired though :D).

These details are also A LOT easier to manage in this system than in something like DAZ or Blender (because VAM actually simulates on the fly). The others look incredible if you can manage it with them, but the time investment is often exhorbitant comparison, I remember some of the incredible scenes I've seen and inquired about took the developers literal months to create a single animation. I imagine AI can cut that down now, but has its own hurdles. The clipping as you've mentioned is a real annoyance though, and while I can't say it doesn't happen, I take a lot of pains to avoid it.

First I've heard about the right click menu being too bright though. :S

It's #eff0f2, basically white. Avoid large white surfaces, it wouldn't be that bad if your game was very bright, or you knew for sure the player was running a light theme (gotta wait for for that), but as is, it's basically blinding me each time i save.

Hmm, it isn't blinding on my end, but I can definitely see how the contrast would magnify things. I'll add it to my list of things to look into.

Yeah the blinding effect is gonna depend on the monitor settings and the luminosity of the room. Close off the blinds or play at night in a pitch black room, turn up the brightness and contrast on your monitor, then play your game for ~10 minutes until your eyes get used to the darkness and try to save.

Generally don't fuck with renpy defaults, in this case white text on a black background, unless you know better.

The latest bit released kind of almost proved my assumptions right about the ship's origin, which, I gotta say, is some well made foreshadowing!
Looking forward to more of it, even though admittedly the complete lack of urgency is still comically grating at times. ;)

Best of luck to you and your family in rebuilding, and in general best wishes!

Hehe, I know the urgency inside the Demeter seems out of pace with the external threat, but I do have some reasons for that which will hopefully become apparent in time. ;)

Found a really simple fix for the save screen background being too bright. Will be in the next release, but you and others don't have to wait if needed.

Just unzip this and throw it over your game folder and overwrite. All it is doing it replacing the background for save/load/preferences menu overlay named game_menu.png with a more toned down grey version they use elsewhere, I also left the original in there and simply renamed it game_menuback.png in case you wanted to revert. (Don't even need the download really, can just finagle it yourself with the info and defaults provided in the game/gui/overlay folder.)
