Thanks Wolfram! Must have missed em when I was converting to the new image format. It's these 2 in the attached if anyone wants to toss them in their images/E2S5 folder instead of waiting on the next full fix.

Spoiler for S2.

Kaylee is now immediately part of the inner circle :WaitWhat:
Fine enough with Alina's story being what it is, but promoting a background extra to the "front'ish" LI category seems abrupt and not earned.

Yeah, the massive Kaylee focus and trust she already has bugged me too. The rest of the episode was great though.

Just feels weird that in this setting a civvie is allowed such close access to the Captain.

It is somewhat similar to how "accelerated" Alina's development is. We meet her first time like a ~week before her rescue, and then ~2 times in the dreams, and MC becomes so attached to her in that super short time that it is "barely" acceptable even with the added caveat that she was eating on his dreams for a year or more. If she was his sleep bestie for a year already before the start of the game it might have made Waaaay more sense on MC's attachment to her, but as it is right now with MC knowing of her only for ~7 days MC's hurt and love feels like an "overreaction".

do admit she totally forced herself into living in the MC's quarters rather easily and quic
that part i find ok if you force the assumption that she is MC's true companion.

just the balance of shown and implied stuff to justify some actions feels off.
fine enough eith Alina, but when almost the same heavy "unjustified" acceleration starts happening to seemingly random people then the writing starts feeling very sloppish.
The other crewmembers of the ship have a good balance of being shown their character development and the actions/attitude of MC towards them.

sure, but 3 sessions? :KEK:
Enough real people seem to manage that after one session, and many not even have the advantage of the feeling being mutual.

Alternatively: You could also easily handwave that they *did* have a year or more of the sleepbuddy-relation you meantion. But Alina needed that long to rearrange MCs greymatter enough that he can both remember his herald-dreams after waking up and hear Nordon without his brain dripping out his ears.
MC wouldn't not have any 'conscious' memories of that time, but the feelings and trust would still be there despite him having no object reasoning but his gut-feelings toward her.

But that would need to change Alinas introduction a bit, and I like that part as it is.

The way she spoke in the 1st meeting leads to believe that it was actually the 1st time they managed to interact face to face.
