Game developers version numbers below 1.0 are supposed to mean the game is in development, 1.0 is supposed to be a full release, and versions above 1.0 are supposed to be patches post launch. It would be normal to have a version 1.0 or 1.1 to be the last versions in normal circumstances, though lots of indie developers don't know this and just do versions in increments of 0.1 with no thoughts of this.
I don't think those version numbers actually mean squat
Like Baldurs gate 3 is at like version 1.407_____ or something like that, and many other games I see have upper and lower version numbers/
I think they are mostly just for the programmers and those working on the project, and have little value to user's.
When I see something like final on games, and I then think yeah it's done, but then I will see "Extended" added to it maybe at a latter date.
I would not personally put to much thought into the version numbers other than it helps me to see or know which is the more finished product. (
But I have also seen version numbers be completely redone, and make confusion even of that a problem)
But that is just my thinking.
I am just a leech anyway, and truly do enjoy all the shared content here
