You need to make serum and use it by going to Common Room and try to give drink to someone and the game asks you if you wish to use serum.

You need to craft reagents to make one and the game tells you exactly how much each of the reagents you need to make one. Should'nt be that hard.....

They also mention something about a serum but then being unable to make it in the lab - only a few options for what that could be, and only one that correlates to what they were replying to. None of which has anything to do with dosing co-workers through their drinks, so nothing to do with what you said at all.
The only question was how to get to the porn, either the ones that are in your room and/or how to play the game, the dosing others will continue the story forward and gives you more drugs to make..... so no, pointing out to play the game is not bad advice, but you do you, if you think otherwise.

1 - You dosed them. You chose to dose them, and didn't pay attention to anything relating to the experimental serum that is MCS-X. MCS-X isn't maxing anyone out when it comes to doses, they are basically "bad ends".
2 - You don't want them fucking people who aren't the MC, then you have the options (just like the option to dose them at all) to rape them, or leave them alone entirely.
You are not forced to do anything with them, not even dose them.
