Did I claim this game to be bad or not good enough? You can never find those claim among all reply I made in this thread.

It's easy to set a non-existent opinion people never say and attack that as an argument. But it's way harder to see the fact.

The facts are his update schedule is garbage and anyone with half a brain knows that he disappear tomorrow and you'll have paid almost every month for 2 years for nothing. His update schedule is garbage, get over it.

Please tell me which boss would be fine with their dev pushing their code once every 2 years ? What would your client say if you didn't update your software for 2 years ? Do you think they would care that you've been working on it in the background ?

Rannero has been doing some "story writing" for 4 months now, as much as I like this game it's not for the story because the story is porn level story writing, which would be fine if it didn't take him so long to write it.

I guess lowering people's problem with how he handles the games development as "he isn't working on the game" is your idea of having a good logic.

I didn't thought that talking about updates in general and using word "game" would be a trouble. Anyway, I don't want to change your opinion, it's fine, and I didn't want to attack you. I'm annoyed with developers getting spoiled by careless or desperate supporters. I replied to you with good intentions (despite that you may not need it, that's fine. I hope this thread is about the story/game, not about update speed, patron, scam and etc. I just feel annoyed that, whenever I saw updates in this thread, it's about people arguing that patron is stupid to support the dev, stop be patron blablabla(And of course, "wHy I cAn't SeE aNY teXt"). I assume everyone here is adult, and everyone can take responsibility of their own stuff.

This update definitely takes way too long to be done. But I am fine with that. I am not a patron of him, so I won't complain about update.

I am not paying => I have no influence on the dev. This is a simple fact and logic, but it seems so hard for some people to consume this. The funny thing is, people complaining about updates are most likely not a patron. I didn't see a single patron come here to complain. so "developers getting spoiled by careless or desperate supporters" doesn't really apply to me/here at least.

I really hope the atmosphere here won't be so toxic.

This game is probably one of the best, considering the tags. There's no CG, so everything is hand-drawn and this means it requires more time. Finally, last year or two years ago he also said he had a newborn baby, so the time he had to spend on the game wasn't very much.
Games like this take a lot of time and yes, we all know that sometimes some devs take a long rest and try to come up with some excuses. Like everyone else, I would love to see the new update or at least a couple of renders, but it doesn't work like that in every case.
In the end, I would say, yes, too much time, that sucks, but at least I'm not paying for it.

Isn't it worth trying out the thing where almost 2 years is dead only little white morsels on patreon there is esa but also genoa that has become quiet like on discord. the supposedly efnzs who want to have done it in the last few years could have brought out an update instead of pictures the best joke for me was when he had new underwear in front of the gestel but the same under the washer was only in black. after that i left patreon. Hey ixh thumbs up, especially for those who have supported him to this day, but I don't think there's going to be anything big. but hey, time will tell until then, I understand you all who are disappointed that the time 2 haren will not come anymore, and who have not lost faith in it

Dragon Date story with a dev who collected $16000 at kickstarter website, also created Patreon page to milk idiots further (well, in that case those people were idiots) and ofc milked them. Why not? Spent 6 years at demo stage. Genius! Didn't finish the game and this year passed it to other developer with an excuse "busy with life". Or did they passed it? Nobody will check them. Even if they finish it after 6 years, this is bs.

Perhaps first of all, read and pay attention to the important information directly at the downloads link. After that, I often review the comments from the first 1-3 or the last few times, whether there weren't already similar questions with proplem gestures and if they were answered, that would be my tip

By definition of this [Abandon] tag, I could name a lot of games that has barely any updates for 1+ years and it still doesn't have the same treatment.

The point I was trying to make is, new players who comes in and sees this tag gets turn off immedately and perhaps may not even download to play it. Plus to the point above, the treatment for this game is inconsistent with other games that has similar release cycle.

I don't see how him being alone in the development is an argument against people's complains.

He accepts money from people, whether the game is free or not doesn't matter, if you get almost 3k dollars a month to develop a game and hasn't updated it in 2 years the people supporting you have a right to be angry. They're paying for a service, the service being Rannero working on the game that makes them clients. That's why the patreon model is shit, developpers have no obligation they can relax for a month or two and take money from their supporters.

Don't talk about logic when you oversimplify people's complain and use "the game is free" as an argument against criticism.

But did this dev use the patreon model or did he release his game on DLSite after 2 years ? There is a huge difference between the two.
In one you have to release the game to make money and the other you're paid to make the development last as long as possible.
In the other you can drag the game development for as long as you want to make as much money as possible.

If the dev of Alien Quest did use the patreon model then it was pretty bad of him to do that unless he made it clear that that's how it was going to be.
