Renderosity's midweek coupon this week is 20% off $20 or more, as usual check notifications for info.

Several deals at 60% off for Prime members atm, the 65% off if prime midweek sale hasn't been posted yet, I believe that one is a Wednesday thing.

Also, at Daz3d.com, a lot of decent deals are leaking through to lightning deals atm, might be worth a looksee.

There's also a 'grab 3 items for $1 with new release' deal/coupon at Daz3D.com as part of the new alpha release sale, but the buy-in seems a little steep to me (over $10) so ymmv.

If you have 8 tokens, that can push down the cost of the buy-in. Not sure if it's still true, but when I bought, tokens also applied to the $1 items, so they only cost $0.55 each and the total was something like $9 for 4 items.

Also, since it's Tuesday, you earn double tokens, so you can throw in some more 60-70% off items to spend enough to bring your total back to 8 tokens.

My issue is that in the last couple of weeks, it wasn't worth it to me to try to recharge tokens - the deals were 'meh' and no good deals on stuff I wanted, so I bought something cheap with my remaining tokens that were expiring over the weekend. So it's not worth it to me atm to attempt a token recharge.

Keep in mind that I have over 20,000 items currently showing as installed in DIM atm and I'm not really interested in G9, which is why I keep saying YMMV.

For people that are still building up their Daz Studio libraries, I'm sure there are deals to be had, and I'm sure that the weakening Dollar is helping to make DS assets a bit more affordable for a number of people that aren't living in the US currently, whiich is fine. But for me, I'm content with my library atm, so essentially am in 'sniping' mode, grabbing assets occasionally if the deal is really good.

My wishlists are currently pretty much 'stuff I might grab if it's really really cheap', I pretty much have the stuff I really want already, so the deals REALLY have to wow me now. Also, my virtual hotties harem is slowing down my G8F load times a LOT, and I can't see a lot of stuff that's in the middle of the Smart Content sort as it relates to characters/textures when using Smart Content (i.e. A' to Z or Z to A sorts aren't able to show the stuff in the middle of the alphabet for G8F),. Which is probably a sign that I have too many virtual G8F hotties already...

I'll be curious to see how the end of May-June Daz3D.com sale shapes up this year. This '25 years' sale currently going on does look somewhat interesting, but yeah, other than the bleed over to lightning deals, yeah I'm perfectly content to sit on the sidelines this time and see how y'all make out.

The Renderosity 65% off if prime midweek sale is the only thing that piques my interest atm, IF the associated midweek coupon is 20% oir higher... there's a few more items I'd like to grab at Renderosity still, if the sales ever line up. I've burned through most of my 50% off gift certificates at this point, and am pretty happy with my recent Renderosity hauls. But I digress...

Anyways, long story short, I have no tokens atm, and am resting on my laurels. As for everyone else, YMMV and hopefully y'all find some really good deals!

Carry on!

Sorry if that was unclear, by "you" I meant "you, the reader" not "you, Ohwee". I guess since it was a reply to you I can understand you taking it that way, but I only replied to you because you're the one who reposted the deal that I was trying to quote. I'd thought this was obvious in this thread specifically where we don't really do one-on-one discussions, but I guess it wasn't, sorry.

[the irony is intentional]

There is a coupon renderosity coupon for 20% for any expense 20USD or more, expiring tomorrow at 23:59 CDT. I got it in a message, but I think it was sent to a whole bunch of people, my guess is at least all "prime", and possibly all the users.

Aw, here is a very sad one for me, cause I pretty much already own all of them.

image_processing20250410-2-tl0k08.png

Because Blendermarket renamed itself to Superhive, they're having a bundle to celebrate, with a whole bunch of best selling addons.

But, as with their humble bundle THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE UPDATES: "Free lifetime updates are not included in the bundle purchase" (that sucks, you get coupons for upgrading at a discount though).

Hello friends,

Today brings a at Renderosity with 65% discounted products:

That adds to the , which is still running, and that offers similar discounts.

And the might be worth a look as well.

And while I wasn't expecting this, I'm still seeing the as active.

Also, the STS0420 coupon code (20% off for orders worth $20 or over) is still working (ends today).

I'm still buying quite frequently these days at Renderosity, because I have much credit left from those juicy 50% off gift certificates from that wishlist sale some weeks ago. The only bad thing about this is that once I run out of the credit left in my gift certificates, it's gonna be difficult for me to justify myself buying things at Rendo without that additional 50% off. LOL

So a new bunch of transfers from renderosity. to daz This time from Antje and purchasing one gives 10% off your cart.
Nothing to write home about, but here is a small reminder on how to avoid duplicate purchases of transferred assets that you have already purchased at renderosity.

  1. Go to your renderosity order list and click "download CSV"
  2. Open the downloaded csv with your favorite spreadsheet
  3. Paste in column j of line 1 the following code that is supposed to convert the rendo url to daz, and copy cell J1 =HYPERLINK(CONCATENATE(" ";LOWER(REGEX(SUBSTITUTE($C1;"(s)";"-s");"[ -._/]+";"-";"g"))))
  4. Sort by column F (vendor) and go to the vendor that you want to check for duplicates (this time Antje)
  5. Paste the copied cell J1 to the cells at column J that you want to check
  6. This will give a set of links. If their number is not too high, just open them. Otherwise, there are some ways to mass open a set of links: browser extensions like bulk url opener, or web sites like
You will get a set of opened tab.
If the page is "not found", it means that the product has not been transferred from rendo to daz (or that the spreadsheet formula is not robust enough to properly perform the conversion ).
If the page correctly opens, it means that you already have the item. Use the daz deals extension to write it as a comment, and/or hide the page from listing.

Hope this helps.

Trying it now, bit of a hassle setting it all up again since it's a completely new iteration.
First thing I noticed, they finally fixed the load times of OOT hairs.
Moving around the scene isn't as smooth but maybe I need to change some settings I missed.
By default, it comes configured to use both your CPU and GPU. Uncheking your CPU may help reduce lag in the viewport.

You can try that and see if it is of any help.

Thanks, tried it but that didn't seem to change anything.
It's only laggy in iray mode, maybe that just got a little more demanding.
The other thing I can't seem to figure out is WASD movement, sometimes it's continuous and the next moment it only does a little tap.
Guess it's labeled alpha for a reason.

I mean, Iray preview is gonna have more lag always. That's to be expected, I'd say.

As for the WASD movement bit you mention, is this about the Scene navigator tool (Alt+Shift+F)? I haven't properly used the 2025 Alpha, but in the regular build (v4.23.0.1), the navigation with that tool usually works fine in my experience. Still, I can imagine it being laggy in very heavy environments. And of course, I'm talking about navigating the scene in the Texture Shaded preview, which is less demanding. Trying to navigate any scene in Iray must be Mission Impossible.

All these issues I mentioned are compared to the regular build, the movement is fine on 4.23.

The thing about the 'new' iray preview is when the scene is too complex it completely stops rendering until you stop moving, which wasn't a thing in the regular build it just got choppy. (I do remember reading about memory fallback being changed in the 2025 version, this could be the result)

Edit, upping response threshold in draw settings improved it a lot.

Thing I'd be curious about is if there are any hooks/hints to it moving to a subscription model; kind of like Adobe and others where the 'YYYY' version is locked into that version for the year with no updates thereafter unless you are a subscriber ...

Usual weekly coupon at Renderosity:

It's A Terrific Tuesday full of Deals -- Take 20% off your order of $20+ with code TERRIFIC20 at checkout. Coupon valid until Thursday 5/01/2025, 11:59 PM (CDT). Coupon is stackable on other promotions but may not apply to all products.
There's a 65% off a small handful of items sale, plus the other sales. Might be worthwhile to hold off for the 'usual' midweek 65% off if prime sale, unless you see something interesting in today's 65% off sale...

I did not try 2025, and I have no plans, not to screw up my Daz, given also the "quality" of their support (interacted with them, that I had to explain to them how their application is built and why what they suggested was bogus, and then solve my problem alone and using the fora, is not an indication of competence on their side), however...

I occasionally use Iray preview for some bits, and it is not too bad, but I would suggest avoiding trying to move too much around, rather use iray preview, switch to texture, switch to iray after moving and so on.

I do manage to move around in Iray +/- decently, but I have three graphic cards, at least two of which are effectively used by Iray (all three are configured for it, but it seems Iray is using almost only two, with a preference for the one that has the biggest VRAM, then the other newer card from the same category though with a bit less VRAM, then the third, though the third one is my "go to" for dForce simulations because if much faster than the others at that).

Having only one GPU, the GPU has at the same time to render and to pilot the display, that increases the effort required and the "chopiness" in movement - already in my configuration, if I switch on and off the iray preview is one thing, but if I keep it on and try moving a lot around, the fans make a "hot" concert that is literally hot :-D.
Iray does the ray tracing, and needs to updated it recalculating every time the view moves, texture shaded just applies the textures, so it is perfectly logical that texture shaded is muuuuuch faster than iray especially when moving around.

At daz3d, there is a rather good deal today, with the "last minute artists".
The site mentions an extra 20% off with a "featured new release", but most (maybe all?) are also part of the artists deal that also gives an extra 30% off with a new release.
So the actual extra discount is 20%+30%=44%, for items already at 60-85% off, which gives a final 78-92% off (plus potential tokens).
As there are 7k items concerned, it is may be worth a look.
The only problem is that it requires the purchase of a "featured new release", and none of them are very exciting IMHO.

TL;DR: just read the colored highlights

Today's DAZ3D deal features limited number of $1 items from a list of 2500, roughly:
  • 350 Genesis 9
  • ~100 both G9 + G8
  • 650 G8F
  • 250 G8M
  • 250 G3F
  • 100 G3M
  • 200 older characters
  • 800 no-character given (environments, props, extras, etc)
You can get up to 13 items from this list for $1 each, with significant buy-in:
  • 3, 6, or 10 $1 items for buying 1,2,3 today's New Releases
  • 3 more $1 items with a coupon and buying one Still New Release (yesterday's New Releases, I think)
Buying multiple New Releases also drives down the prices of the New Releases and Still New Releases and several other deals.

The upshot is that, with 8 tokens with Daz+, if you buy 3 New Releases originally priced $16.99 each, 30% off so $11.89, you end up at:
  • $5.82 per New Release, times 3
  • $1 times 10 items
  • about $28 for 13 items, or just over $2 each
  • add an extra $5.50 for a Still New Release and 3 more $1 items, gives 4 more for around $2 each
Without tokens, $5.82 increases to $8.32, so $35 for 13 items, just under $3 each.
