If you are subscribed to Renderosity's newsletter, chances are that you've got an email notifying of this. Anyway, from today and for the next twelve days, I think, they are giving away one Daz Studio and one Poser item each day to all members. Today's DS freebie is interesting IMHO. The lady has quite the distinct look.

Remember to check daily for the rest of the gifts.
It's not as bad as Daz changing deals every six hours, but dang I hate time-wasting crap like this. I don't download pirated Daz content, but I think I might make an exception for time-limited freebies that I could have gotten for free.

Also if anyone takes an extreme stance against about generative AI, it looks to me like that last Santa image on Renderosity is AI-generated. Not the actual Daz/Poser content, just the marketing materials.

OK, for most of December, we get to deal with Daz3D.com's Advent calendar! Similar to last year if I'm remembering correctly, you can either grab the specifically offered freebie OR pick the specifically offered item for $2.99.

Also, the Daz sales team once again gave us Plus members the finger. Only 10% off gift cards if you are Plus, 20% off if you are Premier. If you aren't either, I guess it's just fuck you this time.

I wasn't in need of an immediate recharge, but yeah thanks for that Daz sales team.

There's also a couple of other freebies in the mix to grab, so there's that. It looks like the 'twice a month (weekly) freebies' have also been updated.

Rest of the sale feels like 'more of the usual', so ymmv. As usual, keep an eye on Lightning Deals for discount stacking opportunities. This can help with the punch card situation, should you be looking for a cheap item over $1 to 'increase or maintain' your punch count.

Last year, both Christmas "freebies" were DO assets randomly taken from your wishlist.
As today both assets were also DOs taken from my WL, I assume that this year it is similar.

We do not know exactly how items are chosen. They must be DO, in your WL, and there are also probably also some constraints: probably a $200 bundle will never be chosen by the algorithm, or a too recent product...
And, if there are no assets electable in your wishlist, the assets will be random DO items.

So, it would probably be a good idea to check your wishlist and, if there are not enough DO items, to add a few "not so bad" DO assets that can be transformed to Christmas freebies.

I have no DO in my Wishlist, so the Advent Calendar items were just random ...

(Free) or (for an extortionate amount)

Hah, Bumhug!

Daz+ currently, at the monthly price they're asking for, is simply not worth it. Assuming (and that's probably too much of an assumption from my part) that by the time my current Daz+ sub ends in almost one year everything remains at the current state, I won't renew Daz+ and, since I consider the Premier subscription fee pricey and I'm not a fan either of the exclusive features that now the application reserves only for Premier members, I will probably subscribe to Premier only for the big sales of the year and remain a basic member the rest of the year with the hope of getting the most out of my money.

Just a quick note for those that may not be aware, that Poser assets will usually still work in Daz Studio, well unless they are fairly new character assets (say La Femme, etc.). Actually, I've never tried to load La Femme in Daz Studio, so I have no idea how much work that would be, or if it's even possible.

The gas station should load just fine though in DS probably. You may feel the need to use a few shaders though, depending on the Poser texture quality, or perhaps just do the Iray Uber Base shader thing.
Technically, there is La Femme even for Daz, if I remember correctly, I even bought La Femme 2 as part of an offer.
For objects, clothes, etc. yes, one can need shaders, but there is even some tool to try converting the materials, and I already used stuff made for Poser in Daz, with IMO pretty decent results.

Ehm, I may have to correct myself. I am not sure anymore if there is a version of La Femme specifically for Daz, or if I just packaged and installed the version for Poser in Daz.
On the other hand, here you have in image of La Femme Pro 1 (there is already a 2) loaded in Daz, and even posed using the standard controls dials of Daz (e.g. selected the hand, then just used the bend dial as would do in Daz normally), although notice I did not do anything in terms of Iray materials, these are the base ones.

My guess is that poses for G8 will not work, but I am not sure if maybe poses for V4 will (I think the one that was pose-compatible with V4 is Dawn, not La Femme, but I am not sure).
For clothes etc., I think it is "only" a matter of creating a clone using one of the various tutorials online, the only problem can be that in theory unless you are a registered artist selling through Daz, you cannot redistribute clones, but that does not stop one to create one for themselves.
Also, notice I did play a lot with V4 clothes that were made for Poser, and once you have a clone made or bought, they can be used even without converters for G3F, G8F and even G9 - the results may not be always perfect, but I got good results, though in some case I also used some tool to give Iray material.
The things more dodgy are shoes, especially high heel/boot with heels (flat ones are less problematic), though one can find online some videos explaining how to do it.

In case someone has the doubt of why going through the hassle: 1) there can be old stuff that was never recreated; 2) there can be stuff that is available for one software/platform/character and not the other; 3) not having to rebuy things one already bought; 4) sometime new stuff is identical to the old one, but the old one is on discount ;-).

Hey y'all!

I'm sensing that Lightning Deals product selections at Daz3D.,com are now 'more discriminatory' to mitigate discount stacking. The last 3-4 periods have had lower discounts than I've seen in the last week or so with the Holiday sale. Might just be luck of the draw, what are y'all seeing?

I don't actually follow the lightening deals, other than have a quick look during my morning browse. Whilst on rare occasions I have spotted something that fits my library it usually presents stuff I am not interested in, and definitely not worth revisiting every 3 hours

I've been using lightning deals a lot to maintain my daily punch count, as until today there's been a few deals that drop under $2 after punch card discounts are factored in. Today, though, the DO's in lightning deals have been stubbornly hovering at only 82% off... which isn't enough to interest me. 90% or higher/less than $2 for the item is my usual target.

And yeah, I have to check say 5-6 times (every 3 hours) before I see a decent deal. Interestingly, I 'goofed' and saw a cool deal on some product at 11 PM Daz3D.com time on Monday, figured I'd wait for Daz Midnight, and of course that PA's product was taken out of the Featured PA pool, so the price jumped, oops! It's wishlisted for next time though...

Mine is stuck at 82% too.
Same here.

Lightning deals are worth a check during big sales IMHO, especially during those when the stacking make them consistently go over the 90 percent discount mark. In the past, when my library of assets were way smaller than now, I got a lot of deals that interested me out of them. Back then I was a little obsessed with them, though. To the point that I could check them on my phone if for some reason my sleep got disrupted in the middle of the night. :KEK:

[Edit2]
corrected exclusions and links[/Edit2]
Hey,

I just read on the Daz forums a user claiming that the code does actually work with gift cards. I can't check it myself since I've already used mine and wasn't interested in buying a gift card (because I bought a big one recently and still have a lot of store credit left). But for those of you who are interested in this offer and haven't used the code yet, it might be worth trying.

Just tried it again, looks like they have updated the checks in the cart ... seems to also work with new items now

OP updated

65% off (55% if not Prime) sale over at Renderosity.com. Somewhere around 2000 items in the mix, some of them look kinda sexy...

There are a couple of 'lesser sales' (50-60% off) running concurrently as well. Details here:

Today's Dress Christmas Freebie at Renderosity might be useful to some of y'all (G8F), I'm guessing the Michael 4 Santa Suit won't impress anyone here...

Meanwhile, over at Daz3D.com, it's an 'all vendors previously featured' catch up sale, and of course also the recently debut/still new items.

The 10% off Gift Card sale can safely be ignored (Requires a Debut New prereq item), unless your store credit is wiped out and you were planning on shopping a lot at Daz3D this weekend for some reason...

Ymmv as usual!

Today in Daz3D.com land...

is on sale!

JingleFae.jpg

OK, her outfit is just a G1/V4/A4 asset that's included with , so only 78/65% off is probably not the best deal for this asset, but I saw the product name, the song popped into my head, and here we are...

Rest of the sale seems like more of the usual, so ymmv. Extra 20% off Lilflame stuff. She's moved a LOT of her stuff over to the Daz3d.com store, might be worth a looksee...

Anyways, friendly reminder that three items are being included with the daily Renderosity advent freebies. Remember to scroll down for the third product! I think I may have missed one or two, that's a me problem though...

The 65%/55% off select items sale ends today at Renderosity, plus other sales going on, here's the daily deals link:

Back to virtual harem building! My hotties need more outfits dammit, it's a cock slut holiday after all!

OK, so there's been a change at Daz3D.com. The product listings used to have a % off shown, that apparently has been replaced by 'you save $x'

Looks like % off is still there, but it's in the upper left corner of the thumbnails now, below the 'new' button.

Goddamn annoying if you ask me!
