I also noticed that when you purchase a bundle, a popup appears saying

This product includes the following item that you already own:
A discount will be applied to this product in your cart.​

The 'discount for bundle items you already own' seemed to trigger though on another bundle that I tested

I got the pop-up for both of the new bundles, needless to say there was not an 'owned' product discount applied to my cart for them; hardly surprising as they are all new, as in released today 2025-07-04, and the component product icons in the bundle's sales page have neither Daz's own "Already Owned" banner nor the Daz-Deals Pro fading and Advice notice.

It looks like they are trying to implement the Daz-Deals Pro add-on's bundle check ... and failing miserably
(A hint for the Daz dev team — maybe checking the SKU instead of a fuzzy text search would work better).

Grabbing a 'Liberty' new release supposedly nets you an extra 20% off wishlist items... but it didn't work on the 'Legacy' item that I just tested in my cart...

Yeah, and it doesn't work on "New" Daz Items in your wishlist which, sadly, makes today's deal a non-event.

I did some experiments with the bundles to understand the algorithm used for the pricing, and it seems similar to what was used in the special bundle sales.

To determine the final price, you have to know the Bundle Discount (BD), which is defined as
BD = price-of-the-bundle / total-price-of-the-assets
For instance, assume a bundle with 4 assets ABCD, with A=$30, B=$30, C=$20 D=$20, which costs $70 (price-of-the-bundle)
The total-price-of-the-assets is 30+30+20+20=$100
Hence BD=70/100=0.7

This is presently a typical value for BD. Several years ago, a bundle discount of 0.6 was common (and I have even seen values under 0.5), but presently BD is rarely below 0.7 and it can be higher and even >1 (Yes Fugazzi, I am thinking of you).

So how is computed the final pricing? The final price will simply be computed by adding the prices of the unowned items and by multiplying this price by BD.
So in our previous example, if you already own A, the price of the bundle becomes (B+C+D)*BD=(30+20+20)*0.7=$49 instead of $70
And if you already own C, the price is (A+B+D)*BD=(30+30+20)*.7=$56 and so on.
Then you can apply the specific sale discount (50%/60%/etc).

I tested several bundles that I partially owned and the algorithm seems to be roughly correct.

Welllll ... it seems that it does list the owned products, so the flaw is that the pop-up is activated on bundles, regardless of whether there are any owned products or not ...




Some of you may be aware of my constant gnashing of teeth and whinging about the absence of the "Buy the bundle and only pay for what you don't own"; Well this new process does just that, my OCD for acquiring bundles that have been 'organically' completed is now satisfied ... looking forward to spending the weekend trawling through bundles to complete my inventory

The 'daily deal' isn't part of 'debut new' as far as I can tell, should you be chasing that extra 10% discount if you have a debut new in your cart.

There's also a new batch of Daz3D.com mid-month freebies, and there's also a daily(?) freebie included as part of the sale.

Discounts seem kind of meh, but if you have tokens about to expire or something, probably worth a looksee. The 'daily deal' is not token-proof at least...


On another note, as noted in the freebies thread, there's a free forest campsite set courtesy of TruiForm (until 21/07/25), plus the 'usual' sales going on. The 'midweek coupon' usually doesn't show up until tomorrow, so might as well wait for the midweek sales I think.

These last set of Deals have been lackluster. 60%(excluding new) all + wishlist bonus % + your fav artist extra bonus or no deal lol.Daz store wild they will re-label items that lost the new badge as new just have items excluded. with the massive discounts . Btw you guys notice PN has been pumping the same character with minisqule differences. Always in the new release promos.

Thanks for the campsite tip. I didnt see that before. re: punch cards, meh. Prices have all been raised to compensate. Things that were ~$2 are like 8 now. I bought something yesterday i didnt really want just to get on the punch card ladder, but now im thinking maybe not worth it. Nothing there today of real interest. will probably pass.

I remember last time, i wound up waiting out the whole sale, because prices got raised throughout to allow for those with card discounts. Obviously, without those discounts, all silly prices.

R.E. Daz3D.com 'now discounting bundles regularly if you own some of the items already' discussion. This is a long overdue feature, and I used it this week to purchase some free bundles where I owned all of the bundle contents already, and a couple of others where there was an item or two left that I didn't own yet. Hopefully this remains a 'regular' feature going forward. For me this is mostly 'housekeeping/cleaning up my wishlist' kinda stuff, but every little bit helps as far as discounts go. Not the best discounts atm, but could be worse...

So far, the 'daily deal' $2.99 items have been things that I can find use for, so building up my punch count has been pretty painless. The fact that the punch count discount applies to the $2.99 is also helpful. And of course, I'm already checking daily to grab the daily sale freebie.

I may dig a little deeper into this sale next week when double tokens are in play again...

I'm still using the 'outlet store' to help push my cart over $10 thresholds r.e. tokens, but the 99 cent ($1.99) category I've pretty much picked dry at this point, as far as stuff I want. Not sure if new items are being added to the outlet store occasionally, but yeah the pickings for me are getting thinner and thinner. Still, for someone else that may just be starting out with their Daz Studio library, it's worth a looksee, even if the outlet deals are otherwise token/discount proof...

Over at Renderosity, more of the usual. The midweek coupon this week is $20 off $20 or more, and the 65% off if midweek prime sale is of course now in play. I already grabbed most of the stuff that I wanted from Renderosity over the last few months, so I'm not paying as close attention now, but they do have some interesting outfits and such, particularly suited for 3D adult game content creation, for those of us that haven't went over to the AI darkside yet...

On another note...

I'm a little distracted atm but I want to add some of the stores some of you have mentioned recently to the OP fairly soon. If there's a store that I haven't mentioned in the OP yet that's worthy of mention as far as regularly giving discounts and such, kindly call them out again to remind me... there's a few stores I haven't signed up for yet (but will probably do so later this year 'cuz Daz3D.com is less interesting to me these days), so I haven't been checking out those stores regularly...

Yes, topping up to get to a token threshold is about the only use I make of the Outlet Store, the Daz-Deals Pro 'Add-on' filter on sales pages is a useful tool for locating candidate items.

I don't think that they have actually added much to the store since launch; though this may be just that my focus is on newer items, as far as I can see the top 50(ish) items shown in the default order of the sales page hasn't changed since I started visiting it. To be frank, I do not expect it to change more frequently than once a quarter... can't actually remember when it was launched ...

Interesting ... when I was on doing my daily chores both the 'Today's Gift' (50%/70% off) and the 'Holiday Freebie' sections were both devoid of products ... Also, before making the post and as customary, I checked with a different browser on which I didn't login... not that I distrust Daz's Promos much ...

The 'Today's Gift' still is, that's is explained by the fact I already own the items.

Checking again just now, both ways, the 'Holiday Freebie' are now there, including the bikini texture, which I have just now acquired — Thank you.

Network glitch? a Loki intervention? ... who knows, I guess that'll be a story I can recount to my great grand-kids ...

This wishlist sale is going to serve me to buy several wishlisted items of mine. It's a pity that the majority of items in my wishlist are not on sale at the moment, though.

And the gift card sale today is pretty bad. Two debut new releases to get a poor 10% off on the card. Sad. I'm not even interested in two of today's debut releases. The only one that really interests me (and that I'm getting) is Polish's new environment bundle.
